What a wonderful day I enjoyed to these fascinating Templar sites with my three tour mates, our guide Ricardo, and assistant Miguel. We also enjoyed two stops for a delicious local pastry and a tasty and convivial lunch. Our guide Ricardo has an extensive knowledge of Templar history which he related with great enthusiasm. I especially enjoyed hearing about the Portuguese Templar connection as we toured the sites. Miguel added so much to the conversation in terms of Portuguese art and culture. It was a full, rich and hospitable day.
Ricardo our guide was very knowledgable about the history of the Knights Templar, so we spent a fascinating day seeing sites associated with the Knights in Portugal, and learning about them. It was a small group tour of only 7 of us, which was great. Not only was the history interesting, but we saw lovely scenery and visited some lovely towns as well. A very fascinating and enjoyable day.
Paula and Anna were excellent companions for our day which turned out to be a personal tour. They made very effort to make the day interesting and comfortable. They spoke English well, listened to our questions, knew their material, were flexible, efficient and provided for all our needs. And they were fun to be with.
I truly enjoyed this tour. It was well organised from start to finish. Thank you very much to Antonio for sharing his wealth of knowledge and for making this a very enjoyable day trip.
The guide (Mica? Not sure of the spelling) was incredibly knowledgeable - she was also able to answer all our questions. She made it a very pleasant day out :-)
