Planning Your Berlin Visit

When to go?

Unless you're averse to crowds, visit Berlin over the summer, when the city's relaxed street-life is at its most contagious. Include a Sunday to experience one of the bustling flea markets.

Where to stay?

Every Berlin neighborhood has its own character. Charlottenburg is relatively flash, with Mitte a trendier alternative. Prenzlauer Berg is the city's café-culture capital, populated by young families. Schoeneberg is renowned for its gay clubs and bars, while Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg also provide plenty of nightlife options─most a little rough around the edges!

How to get around?

Berlin is covered by trains, trams, taxis, and buses. Train stations are largely unmanned with machines to buy tickets from. Many tourists mistakenly think the trains are free before being fined €60 by inspectors!
The Berlin WelcomeCard covers public transport in Berlin and Potsdam for 2-5 days, and also provides discounts at many restaurants and attractions, including the Berlin Dungeon.

What people are saying about Berlin

Great views of Berlin from an amazing building

Interesting and informative guide. We did run into problems getting in due to entrances being blocked off and security guards deployed at one every entrance due to events happening on the day. The guide was determined to get us in and did not give up which many others may have done. It was almost two tours in one. Gave us an idea how it must that been to get over the wall before it was torn down. Lol. The building itself is stunning and a great deal of thought has gone into it from an architectural and functional point of view. The views a stunning. Well recommended. I. Would have giver it five stars if not for the entrance problems but that was definitely not the fault of the tour guide.

Great introduction to the city and its sights

Went on the tour with Nate. Lots of knowledge of the city and its attractions. Kept everyone involved and most importantly safe too. Definitely recommend this tour to anyone. The office is situated right below the TV tower so it’s easy to find too.

Dont think I've laughed so much on any other experience

Great fun. Unfortunately our Trabant lost its electrics! Our guide offered us a replacement but we soldiered on with no wipers and indicators. This distracted us from the Commentary but great fun anyway.

Scenic, picturesque, sunny day with a great, knowledgeable Tour guide.

Lior was an exceptional guide, enough information but not overpowering, the city was beautiful, amazing reflection on history and royalty at the end of the day.
