Full description
Taste the wines of the Torres wineries, and discover the curious rocks and monastery of Montserrat on a full-day sightseeing tour from Barcelona.

Transfer by air-conditioned bus to the Montserrat Mountains to visit the Royal Basilica of Montserrat and see its 12th-century Romanesque carving of the Verge Moreneta (“Black Madonna”). Marvel at the Benedictine sanctuary, founded in 1025 as a mystical backdrop for the Virgin of Montserrat, the patron saint of Catalonia. Following a guided tour, you then have some free time to enjoy the fabulous landscape by yourself, to visit the local food market and the audiovisual exhibition, and to taste some liqueurs.

At the appointed time, you will meet the guide at the bus stop to depart to the prestigious wineries of the Torres family in the heart of Penedés, where you will discover and experience all the secrets about the fascinating world of wine. This visit starts with a commented tasting of two wines and a full local appetizer-brunch. Experience Catalan wines with all your senses. Learn more about wine production at the audiovisual exhibition that explains the history of the Torres wine producing family and their wineries. Then, board the small train that takes you to the vineyards of Mas La Plana. Travel back to the Middle Ages as you learn the secrets of the wine-making process.

Next, transfer to the seaside resort of Sitges, one of the most beautiful villages of the Catalan coast. Take a guided tour of its picturesque old town as you walk down narrow streets and discover its beautiful beaches, vibrant culture, cuisine, and boutique stores. Hear about the “Indianos” who left the village in search of a better life in America. After the guided tour you will be free to continue discovering the corners of the city and its magnificent beaches, or to go shopping in the old town.
