Full description
Sagrada Familia is a basilica unlike any other. It is a surreal combination of Gothic, Art Nouveau and Modernist styles. Walk through the basilica’s dream-like interior and see the symphony of light created by the stained glass.

After meeting your guide, the tour will start with a 10-minute introduction about the monument before heading to the entrance of the basilica. While waiting to go through the security control, your guide will tell you all about the Nativity Facade. This was the first completed section of the basilica and the one that Gaudi worked on the most personally. Once you have entered, spend some time taking a close look at the Facade and learn about the many symbols that Gaudi left for the viewer to decode. Hear about how Catalan culture influenced the artist, and how he, in turn, influenced the world. During the tour you will learn about the ongoing construction of the church and you will find out the date when the monument is due to be completed.

After exploring the Nativity facade, step into Sagrada Familia and be transported to another world. Marvel at the intense colored light created by the stained glass windows. Look up and see the columns extend branch-like over the ceiling. Gaudi intended for the interior to look and feel like walking through the woods. As you walk between this forest of columns, the dappled light gives the impression of sunlight coming through leaves.

As you exit the basilica, explore the Passion Façade which represents the passion and the death of Jesus. Experience the drama of its stark and angular sculptures. The facade, like most of Sagrada Familia, was built after Gaudi’s death. Learn about the ongoing construction of the basilica and how generations of craftsmen, architects, and artists, are bringing Gaudi’s vision to life.

As your tour comes to an end, you can ask your tour guide for tips on what else to see and do in Barcelona. You can linger on your own and visit the Gaudi museum beneath the basilica. Here, you will find artifacts from the basilica's history and Gaudi’s life, such as his upside-down model of the basilica. This model made of string and buckshot helped Gaudi figure out how to build his giant towers.
