Full description
On this 4-hour tour you will travel from Athens to the Nemea region to sample some of the best local-made wines in the area. The tour starts in the morning, with a drive south from Athens to Peloponnese. On the way you will make a short stop to see the famous Corinth Canal, connecting the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea.

You will then continue on to the Nemea area, one of the largest wine-making regions in Greece. Some of the best wines in Greece are produced in this area, particularly from the Agiorgitiko red grape. Many of Greece’s most well-known wineries are located in the Nemea area, and many are worth taking the time to visit.

The Nemea wine-growing region can roughly be divided into 3 zones according to the altitude of the vineyards. At the lowest altitudes, in the valley of Nemea, light reds and dessert wines are produced. In the next zone some of the best age-worthy reds are produced, and at the highest altitudes of up to 900 meters, aromatic rosé wines and fresh reds are made.

You will visit 3 wineries where you will have the chance to taste some of the wines. You can also buy some wines or obtain information about wine production. On the way, you will see the sanctuary of Zeus. You can also stop in a restaurant if you wish to eat in a Greek tavern before returning to Athens.
