We are a into food history, preparation, culture and do food tours all over the world. This was supposed to be a small group tour, but the other party cancelled. So it became a private tour for our family of 4. Walking was easy. The path was well organized. Eirinie, our guide, was personable, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and fun. She went out of her way to tailor the tour to our interests. Eirinie also gave us recommendations for a wine bar and a dinner restaurant for that night. Both turned out really amazing. One of our favorite food tours in recent memory. ...even our teen boys were excited and dubbed it “best Athens tour and tour guide ever!” What a great experience. Highly recommended. Ask for Eirinie. You won’t be sorry.
This Tour is so much more than just a food walking tour. We not only tasted delicious traditional Greek food and drinks, we also received a wealth of history and knowledge from Tassos at Athenian Tours. We walked all over different parts of Athens city seeing so much more than we would have seen ourselves or with any other tour guide in my opinion. Tassos has so much passion for what he does and is very charismatic as well. You will love being in his company! If you do only one tour, I would pick this one in a heart beat. It was honestly the highlight of my 3 days in Athens. Don't think about it, just do it!
Our tour guide was lovely. We started with Greek coffee, then had a tradtional sandwich, walked casually through the streets of Athens and got a sense of the local lifestyle. We also had traditional desserts and went to a distillery for local spirits. My teenage children enjoyed it as much as the adults. Great tour!
Our guide, Katherine was magnificent and shared her knowledge, culture & Greek history with us in a delightful manner. She kept us on track without rushing. It was an intimate look at traditional Greek foods and the part they play in the Greek way of life. We experienced so much delicious food; arrive hungry.
Tassos was exceptional. He was professional, and very knowledgeable of Athens food history and took us to the best hidden gems and well-known family run food establishments. Best stories from his Grand Mother. You will try many great foods/drinks....go hungry. Walking is easy. Highly recommended!!!
