Full description
Tour the city of Evora with the accompaniment of your driver. Discover its extensive history, ranging from the Romans to the Moors and Portuguese kings.

Start your trip in the morning and drive to Evora. Once arriving, stroll down the traditionally decorated cobbled streets that are centuries-old and protected by law. Notice how many of the buildings here are trimmed with yellow, a common feature in the region since the color is believed to repel evil spirits. When the sun is high and you need to escape the heat, take refuge under Jacaranda trees, or admire their purple flowers in the springtime.

The city is full of churches and sites dating back to ancient times. Visit Giraldo Square, the Aqueduto da Agua de Prata, Church of Saint Francis, the Chapel of Bones, the Roman Diana Temple, and Evora Cathedral. See several remnants of the Roman wall that once encircled the town and head up the hill to visit the most intact Roman ruin. Located at the city's highest point, the 14 Corinthian columns mark the Roman temple that once stood here. Today it serves as a place for open-air concerts and events.

As you explore Evora stop into the many fine eateries and shops the city boasts. From a store that makes everything out of cork, to tiles, leather, ironwork, and Arraiolos rugs, take the opportunity to enjoy a little bit of shopping before heading back in the evening.
