Full description
Journey from Amsterdam on an informative tour of the picturesque Dutch countryside. Visit one of the most popular destinations outside of Amsterdam – the windmills of Zaanse Schans.

In Zaanse Schans, admire a collection of well-preserved historic windmills and houses before exploring the Dutch fishing villages of Marken and Volendam.

At the quaint island community of Marken, you'll feel like you've traveled back in time. Here you will visit a wooden shoe maker. In Volendam, try to spot the recognizable Dutch traditional costumes often featured on tourist postcards and posters. You will also have a chance to visit a cheese shop that still makes cheese in the traditional Dutch method before returning to Amsterdam.

Out of 7 tours on this Baltic Sea trip this was the highlight.

The substitute guide was exceptional. The entire trip was planned extremely well. The communications were superior to any of our other tours. The flow of the tour was more than one would ever expect based on other experiences. We will always seek out Get Your Guide for all future touring.

Very good value for money - excellent tour

Our guide Tas was an excellent tour guide and the day was extremely well organised. Great value for money and it gave us a broad view of traditional life in the Netherlands which you would struggle to see on your own in the time available. The destinations were touristy but we were expecting that. Would highly recommend.

touristy but really fun!

we spent a week in amsterdam and after 3 days of being in the city, and walking about 7 miles each day, the bus tour was a welcomed reprieve. it was very touristy but a great way to see the countryside, the old fishing town, the cheese factory, the clog-making factory and the windmills. we wouldn't have done those things on our own. i got a bunch of great photos and learned some interesting facts. it says half day but it's about 7 hours, so plan for that.
