Explore the highlights of Kangaroo Island on a two-day tour from Adelaide. Travel there by coach and ferry, and fly back. Enjoy a wide variety of activities and get acquainted with the native animal life. You’ll see kangaroos, koalas, sea lions, and more as you discover the island’s natural beauty.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Adelaide to Kangaroo Island, Shearing Demo, Eucalyptus Distillery, Seal Bay, and Little Sahara (L, D)
Depart Adelaide early in the morning and enjoy a scenic coach trip along the Fleurieu Peninsula to Cape Jervis, and then take a 45-minute ferry ride to Kangaroo Island. You’ll meet your local driver/guide on arrival in Penneshaw. See a sheep-shearing demonstration at Rob's Shearing & Sheepdogs and explore Pennington Bay. Visit Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery, and then explore Seal Bay on a fully-guided walking tour. Get up close to a wild breeding colony of rare Australian sea lions.

Later, at Little Sahara, marvel at the huge white sand dunes and test your skills at sand boarding. At Vivonne Bay Lodge you’ll have some free time to try a variety of activities, like kayaking, swimming, riding a trail bike, or simply relaxing. Enjoy a tasty BBQ dinner and as the sun sets see kangaroos, tammar wallabies, and possums. Relax around the fire (except in the summer months) or kick back on the deck with a glass of local wine before retiring for the night. Overnight at Vivonne Bay Lodge.

Day 2: Hanson Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, Flinders Chase National Park, Admirals Arch, and Stokes Bay (B, L)
Get up close to more koalas, kangaroos, and other native animals at the Hanson Bay Wildlife Sanctuary. Visit Flinders Chase National Park and marvel at the Remarkable Rocks. Take in the spectacular coastal seascapes as you head to Admirals Arch at Cape Du Couedic to watch resident long-nosed fur seals.

Enjoy a delicious BBQ lunch at the Flinders Chase Visitor Center. Visit the secluded beach at Stokes Bay and enjoy a walk at Ironstone Hill (time permitting). Be on the lookout for wallabies and admire the spectacular views of the mainland. If time and weather permit, several stops can be made en route to Kingscote Airport, allowing time for dinner (at your own expense) before your return flight to Adelaide. Arrive in Adelaide and be dropped back to Adelaide central bus station or at selected central Adelaide and Glenelg hotels.
