Monarto Zoo is one of the largest open range zoos in the world, spanning more than 1,500 hectares and is home to more than 50 species of exotic and native mammals, birds and reptiles. Only 50 minutes drive from Adelaide, race to Monarto Zoo to meet a troop of cheeky chimps, a crash of rhino and one of Australia’s largest African lion prides. The zoo is located 70 kilometers from South Australia’s capital city Adelaide and is the gateway to the picturesque Murraylands region. To get the most out of your visit, set aside a minimum of 4 to 5-hours to fully enjoy the Monarto Zoo experience. There are a number of ways to experience the zoo including the free Zu-Loop shuttle, pre-booked safari tours for groups and by foot via the walking track network.
