Full description
Spend 2 hours exploring the birthplace of the Italian flag, Reggio Emilia. Meet your guide at the the train station and begin your tour by visiting the Old Town’s main monuments, walking through the various Piazzas of the city: Piazza del Tricolore, Piazza Prampolini, Piazza San Prospero, Piazza Martiri del 7 Luglio, Piazza del Monte and Piazza Vittoria. At Piazza Prampolini, visit the Tricolore Room and the nearby museum, where the Italian flag was instituted more than 200 years ago. Then, your guide will take you to the Reggio Emilio Cathedral, “the Dome”, where you can learn all about its history and admire its ancient architecture.     After a break, visit the Diana School, a truly unique alternative school nestled in greenery. The last stop of your tour will be a visit to the Mediopadana Railway Station, where you can appreciate the futuristic architecture, designed by Saniago Calatrava.
