I highly recommend this experience. It is necessary to go with an open mind at first, but then it becomes relaxing. We added a massage to the experience and it was well worth it. The staff who give the showers don't speak much English, so communication can sometimes be a little tricky.

It was incredibly relaxing and the fact that you get to be in such an old place alone with your thoughts was pretty amazing. My favourite part was the soap bath and massage (it felt like they were pouring clouds on your body). If you are not comfortable with being naked (except for a bikini) when they massage you, it is probably not for you. Also, it lasts for less than 1.5 hour, more like an hour (I bought the full package including the massage oil and I was instructed after the shower to get changed - not to stay in the marble stone as much as I wished). The location was great and the place is easy to find either by walking towards it or catching the tram and walking a bit.

What to say: you cannot visit Istanbul and not go to be pampered in a Turkish bath. Very nice environment, very clean, quiet, relaxing. They provided us with a personal kit which included disposable briefs, soap and a massage glove; we then went to the women's section of the facility where we undressed. We then entered the magic of the hamman, where 2 wonderful women welcomed us who massaged us for an infinite time and even washed our hair .... a delight! We were then able to use the facility freely. My daughter and I took advantage of it and relaxed for a nice hour.
