Full description

Spend a day experiencing the natural beauty of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park from Edinburgh. Enjoy a memorable visit to Stirling Castle, explore the pretty villages of Aberfoyle and Loch Lomond Shores, and set off on a spectacular cruise across Loch Lomond.

Departing Edinburgh, head to the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond, one of the prettiest and largest lochs in the whole of Scotland. Here you can enjoy an hour-long cruise taking in spectacular views of the loch’s many islands and the surrounding mountains.

Alternatively, take a stroll through the picturesque loch-side conservation village of Loch Lomond Shores, with its quaint houses, cafes, and stunning views across the loch’s western shoreline.

Enter The Trossachs National Park and experience its abundance of lochs, mountains, and forests. Continue on, past medieval Doune Castle, to the pretty town of Aberfoyle, situated on the banks of the River Teith in Stirlingshire, where you stop to enjoy some lunch.

Travel north-west for your last stop of the day at magnificent Stirling Castle, one of Scotland’s most historically significant castles, sitting high on volcanic rock and offering wonderful views of the surrounding landscape.

Visit the castle and learn of the exploits of key historical figures including William Wallace, Robert the Bruce, and Mary Queen of Scots. Travel back to Edinburgh at the end of your tour.

Meeting point

Meet outside the green Ensign Ewart pub. There is currently a shortage of taxi and private hire cabs in Edinburgh, which may make it harder to get to the departure point if you're thinking of using a taxi. It is strongly recommended that you allow for more time to reach the departure point in the morning and look into public transport options as a backup.

Marty and Charlie had done what I thought impossible . Restored my faith in ppl. I lost a wallet today during the tour . I was gonna just let it go coz I was just going to lose some money , but these guys went out of their way to get it for me! I have never had my mind blown by such an act of super heroism !!!! The tour was great too . Marty is super funny . Charlie drove like Lewis Hamilton only safer! I’m still buzzing about this day and how I was gonna lose 140 pounds but gained a tonne in respect for these 2 guys!!!!!! Grazie Mille mi amici!

The tour was worth it. Seeing the huge Kelpies upclose and personal, learning the history around mysterious Loch Lomond while riding a boat, and visiting the historical stronghold Stirling Castle was a totally worth it experience. On top of that, our guide/driver Marty was the best. His sense of humour kept us entertained during the whole trip. Apart from the nice, crisp Scottish air, it was so refreshing to hear history and the Scottish humour which for me was the cherry on top. Thanks to our guide Marty

Everything was good, the tour guide was knowledgeable and funny. The area is beautiful so it's really hard not to like it :) There're a few comments though. Lunch break was 50min which was hardly enough for a big group to find a place, order and eat. We were rejected in 2 out of 3 existing places (other groups were there!) which meant that eating options were extremely limited. You should also keep in mind that commentary are in English with strong Scottish accent and considering that 99% of people are not Scottish there and most not even English, you may not understand everything. And a suggestion to the tour operator - Falkirk wheel is 4 miles from Kelpies, it's a shame not to see it being right next to it. 30min looking at Kelpies is quite excessive so the timing can be easily rearranged. I believe it would create a big advantage to the tour.
