You will be collected from Edinburgh city center at 08:00 by minibus, and drive north over the Forth Road Bridge where you can see the magnificent three bridges of Scotland. You will then continue north past Perth and into Highland Perthshire, arriving at Splash White Water Rafting in the town of Aberfeldy at 09:30, ready to go rafting on the River Tay. After a kit brief from your guides, you'll get kitted up with all equipment required and then walk 200 meters to the river to get a safety brief. Then it's onto the rafts for the start of a 6-mile rafting trip which flows through some of the best Highland scenery in Scotland, and is a mix of flat fast moving water and bouncy rapids of various sizes. This rafting trip is graded 1-3; (rivers are graded 1-5 for white water rafting). The River Tay being in the middle grades makes it an excellent introduction trip to white water rafting.
The last section of the trip flowing through the small village of Grandtully is where all the main rapids are, and all the skills you learned on the way down the river will be put to the test.
At the end of the rafting trip at 12:30, you'll be transferred back to Aberfeldy to the base where you can get changed into dry clothes.
Then it's time to walk the 300 meters to the neighboring Dewar's Distillery, where you'll have a short guided tour of this excellent visitor experience and Highland Whisky Distillery. There is an excellent cafe onsite, or you may decide to walk the short distance into the town of Aberfeldy to visit some of the many cafes and shops available. At 15:00 it's time to meet back at the Splash Rafting base to get on the bus and head back to Edinburgh, where you'll arrive between 16L30 and 17:00.
