Full description
Hop on an air-conditioned luxury coach (up to 32-34 seats) for the start of your tour. Depart Edinburgh and first pass the fortress that is Stirling Castle. Hear your tour guide tell tales of William Wallace and Robert the Bruce, and the bloody battles fought out on these lands. Arrive at Deanston Whisky Distillery, which is the first stop of the tour. Here, you can take an optional tasting tour of this working whisky-distillery. If whisky is not your thing, skip the tour, and enjoy breakfast, or a coffee, at the distillery cafe, ‘The Coffee Bothy’. Next, drive through Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. Your Scottish guide will tell you the story of Rob Roy MacGregor, the most famous (or infamous) Highlander to ever live. Follow in the footsteps of James Bond ("Skyfall") and Harry Potter ("Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban") as you travel to the stunning Highland valley of Glencoe. Hear the eerie story of the Clan MacDonald massacre of 1692. Travel through Fort William, home to Ben Nevis, which at 4,409 feet is the highest mountain of the British Isles. Arrive on the south bank of Loch Ness in the charming village of Fort Augustus. Here, you will find lots of cafes, shops and restaurants for a relaxing lunch. Take a stroll along the banks of the Caledonian Canal. Then, experience the majesty of Loch Ness on an optional relaxing 1-hour boat cruise. See if you can catch a glimpse of "Nessie", the legendary Loch Ness Monster. Admire the impressive Commando Memorial at Spean Bridge with breathtaking views of the Nevis Range. Enter the beautiful Cairngorms National Park and discover "Monarch of the Glen" country. Drive along Loch Laggan before the roads climb high above the Grampian Mountains. Travel over the Pass of Drumochter, which links the northern and southern Central Highlands. Experience the majesty and drama of a mountain pass created by glacial activity during successive Ice Ages. Finally, make a short stop in the beautiful Victorian town of Pitlochry, before making your way back to Edinburgh city center, arriving at approximately 8:30 PM.

Unbelievably good- from getting on the coach to being dropped off Slight disappointment though- a USP of the tour- is distillery tour. We were only advised that this would not be happening when we boarded the coach We were advised that it was closed and we would not be visiting it. (Has been closed since lockdown) Obviously, as a company, you were aware of this and therefore you should have adjusted the information on the website. Everyone booked in good faith that this aspect would be available. A few people acknowledged they had received an email stating this was not available- though many had not and I was one of them!

What a great day-out! Firstly, I want to give a big shout-out to Brian, our tour guide for the day. He was brilliant. He was friendly, communicative and very knowledgeable. I appreciated both his good humour and knowledge of Scotland - it was great to receive a history lesson of this marvellous country! The day-long trip was great throughout, but I can definitely say the visit to Glencoe was the most inspiring section. Brian took the time to make stops throughout the amazing scenery giving the tour plenty of opportunities to take photos. I strongly suggest to any visitor of Scotland to see Glencoe - it's amazing. Loch Ness was also an impressive sight to behold, where we took a short ferry trip around the loch. Unfortunately, we didn't go to the Whisky Distillery due to COVID-19. However, this was notified to travellers a day or two before we set off.

Absolutely one of the best tours I’ve been on! John is fantastic as a tour guide. He keeps you entertained the entire trip. We didn’t get to go to the distillery since it was closed but with the rest of the tour as amazing as it was, it didn’t matter!
