Full description
Head for the Highlands, whether in search of the Loch Ness Monster or just a scenic day trip from Edinburgh. After pickup from the meeting point, relax on your group’s bus and listen to the guide’s entertaining commentary. Your first stop is Kilmahog for an introduction to the famous Highland Cows and a cup of coffee. If you’ve ever asked yourself what a ‘hairy coo’ is, this is a real treat. Next, travel up the road to Glencoe. Enjoy a 10-minute photo stop here as the unforgettable Highland views wow you. Lunch is then in Fort William, where your guide can advise you on where’s best to eat. If interested in the mysteries of the kilt, you can even get a ‘wee’ kilt introduction here. You’ll then be whisked to Loch Ness itself.  Best of all, customize your experience at Loch Ness with some personal touches. Visit the majestic Urquhart Castle, and hop on a boat in search of ‘Nessie’, as the locals fondly call it. Or simply hang out on the pier and grab a coffee with some fantastic views. On the way home, make a short snack stop in Pitlochry, a beautiful village in the heart of the country, before returning to Edinburgh.

Taking time to look back on a great tour which was excellent value as is the optional extra of the cruise on Loch Ness. The day was spent seeing some of the most most wonderful scenery and hearing fascinating commentary with a lot of history and added humor from first class guide called David. Our coach was very comfortable, driven by a very professional and friendly driver called Kenny. The interaction between these two guys was something totally unexpected yet added that warmth and that ‘wow factor’ to the tour. Plenty stops to get out of coach for fresh air, photographs, eat and even feed the hairy coos. First experience of visiting Scotland and wondering why not been there before. Will be back for sure and hope to travel with you two guys again. Cheers to both David and Kenny as you were indeed one of the highlights of the tour, and by the response you received at end of the day, I guess that was a unanimous opinion. Would highly recommend this tour.

My boyfriend and I went on this day trip yesterday and it was one of the most fantastic and memorable days we've had in the 2 years we've been studying here. Our tour guide was Paul E. and he was phenomenal- He told us many fascinating stories and historical info along the ride, answered questions, and had the entire bus laughing countless times. He was extremely kind and offered to take photos for everyone, got to know everyone on the tour, and made recommendations for what to do at each stop. The highlights for us were the beautiful sights between Kilmahog and Loch Ness, as we stopped several times to get out for photos of the breath-taking views. My boyfriend and I paid for the optional boat tour around Loch Ness, and it was definitely worth the money. If you can plan to take this tour on a sunny day, I would recommend that as the weather was beautiful and made the trip all the more enjoyable. Bus driver Martin was also a delight! Great way to see the highlands in just one day!

If you are hard of hearing arrive early to get a seat near the front of the coach Lots of useful historical information but ended up at the back and missed most of it A little rushed at times but a great experience Make sure you book your boat trip in advance on LochNess
