A professional hiking guide will take you to the base of Falljökull, an outlet glacier of the Vatnajökull ice cap and lead you up to the cave. We were meant to take a morning tour but had unforeseen car troubles and were afraid we would miss our tour. Ryan was so understanding and allowed us to join the afternoon tour instead. Janet was our guide and absolutely AMAZING! She was so knowledgeable about the glacier and ice caves--taking us to three ice caves during our visit as well as all over the glacier. She was so kind and helpful to my in-laws,who were on the tour with us and needed to take a few breaks throughout. She made sure it was a wonderful experience for our entire group, and she took picture after picture of us! This was absolutely the highlight of our trip to Iceland-- the weather was incredible, the area was gorgeous, and it felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Thank you, Janet and Ryan!

We were only 4 people , which was better , and we managed to see 2 caves - blue diamond and black diamond. Due to the weather we couldn’t see a third one but the guide made the tour in the black cave really amazing , making us going through a small tunnel inside ( we had to crawl there ) and this was really exciting! We've had an excellent experience on the glacier and with Melrakki. Due to bad weather we were given the choice between the long tour or a shorter one. We opted for the shorter one of 3 hours. The young and very experienced owner, Oddur, took us straight to the foot of the glacier where we had a beautiful and exciting tour with loads of information. The description of the tour is very honest, the small group of 6 was perfect and made personal contact with Oddur and the rest of the group easy. Because of the shorter tour we almost immediately got a refund. I would recommend Melrakki to everyone looking for a great glacier experience

Had a great time. Our guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining, and provided interesting information throughout the tour. He was also very helpful with taking pictures once in the ice cave. The cave itself was even better than we expected.

Excursion made in mid September suddenly the cave was not like the "typical" photos but it was beautiful and a large part of the cave was blue. The guide was brilliant, local. It is to be done.

The drive alone was worth it. A great tour, a really impressive glacier cave and a great guide.

The cave was very beautiful. And our guide Pat was great!
