The adventure starts with a short safety briefing on how to operate the ATVs. When everyone is ready, it's take-off time, when you'll head for the majestic black sand plains of Sólheimasandur. Cross this desert-like landscape and stop by the famous DC3 plane that crashed on the sands in 1973. The guide will lead the group further over the sands to the spectacular coastline to witness views of the surrounding area. From the beach, see Dyrhólaey peninsula, the southernmost tip of Iceland. Looking inland, you can see the marvelous Mýrdalsjökull glacier in the distance. Heading back over the sands and following the Jökulsá river, your adventure will conclude as you cross a river to enter a stunning mountain valley.

You will start your premium Golden Circle and south coast tour by driving along the beautiful Nesjavallaleid scenic route with your jeep. This road winds through mountains and volcano craters, offering great views of Thingavallavatn, Iceland’s largest natural lake. The first stop of the tour is the Thingvellir National Park, which is famous for being the site of the first parliament both in Iceland and the world. You will then continue to the famous Geysir hot spring area. Geysir erupts every 8-10 minutes, and you can walk around the area and take pictures of the hot springs before we head to Gullfoss, the golden waterfall, another unmissable place to see in Iceland. Your journey then continues towards Fludir, stopping at Faxi Waterfall first and then reaching the Secret Lagoon (only during the months of April - September). This beautiful natural hot pool is one of the oldest in Iceland and is definitely a gem you should not miss. After a relaxing bath in the Secret Lagoon (optional and at your own expense), you will continue towards the South Coast. As you drive south, you will get closer to one of Iceland’s most active volcanoes, Hekla. In the middle ages, Hekla was known as the “gateway to hell”. You will have a beautiful view of the volcano as you drive towards the Lava Centre, your next stop, where we can observe the monitoring of active volcanic systems, earthquake activity, and surface movements in Iceland. You will then make a quick lunch stop at Katla Restaurant, which is in the Lava Centre. Following lunch, you will continue to Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss, two of Iceland’s most famous waterfalls. Get your cameras ready and make sure you wear a raincoat, as you will have time to walk behind Seljalandsfoss, becoming drenched in the pristine cascading water. Following the waterfall, you will drive past Iceland’s most infamous volcano, Eyjafjallajokull, the volcano that froze air traffic in 2010 and made Iceland famous all over the world. Your next stop is Solheimajokull, a beautiful glacier tongue which is easy to walk to. Here you have a chance to walk close to the glacier and admire its blue, white, and black ice. You will finally continue to the Dirholey Cliffs and Reynisfjara, where you can admire black sand beaches, sea stacks, and basalt columns.

You’ll get close to a glittering glacier at Sólheimajökull, discover the dark rock arches of Dyrhólaey, and walk on the famous black sand beach at Reynisfjara. We’ll stay in the peaceful countryside overnight, always watching for the Northern Lights overhead, provided the weather conditions are suitable! Day 4 | Glacier Lagoon & Blue Ice Cave The final day brings you to the dream destination of the Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach at Jökulsárlón. This tour is along Iceland’s famous south coast and takes you to some of the most iconic landmarks in the country. Your guide will pick you up from your accommodation in Reykjavík and teach you about the land of ice and fire as you make your way southeast along the famous ring road. Our first stop is Seljalandsfoss, a waterfall that you will have the opportunity to walk behind taking you into a massive cave. From there, we head to Skogafoss, arguably the most famous and massive waterfalls in Iceland. If you are lucky enough, a sunny day exposes a constant double rainbow that touches the falls. Coffee and lunch stops will be made at the cozy coastal town of Vik after making a stop along the black sand coastline of Reynisfjara and Dyrhólaey to hopefully spot some puffins (if in season). Then continue to Skogafoss, a mighty waterfall visible from the road. Walk up the staircase that winds up the grassy slope beside the waterfall to catch some spectacular views of the waterfall and Iceland's South Coast. On a sunny day, both waterfalls will be covered by splendid rainbows. You will then visit the cliffs of Dyrholaey and Reynisfjara, the famous black sand beach with basalt columns and caves.
