Split to Dubrovnik via Mostar: Private Day Trip

9. Split to Dubrovnik via Mostar: Private Day Trip

Drive for 2 hours to reach Mostar. The world-famous Stari Most (Old Bridge) is Mostar's indisputable visual focus. Its pale stone arch magnificently throws back the golden glow of the sunset or the tasteful night-time floodlighting. The bridge's swooping stone arch was originally built between 1557 and 1566 on the orders of Suleyman the Magnificent. Situated on the Neretva River and the fifth-largest city in the country, Mostar was named after the bridge keepers (mostari) who guarded the Stari Most (Old Bridge) over the Neretva in medieval times. The Old Bridge, built by the Ottomans in the 16th century, is one of Bosnia and Herzegovina's most visited landmarks, and is considered an exemplary piece of Islamic architecture in the Balkans. Wonder at the sites and take in the rich cultural history of this city.  Visit a family home in the village of Hardomilje and experience a way of life which has changed very little over the generations and is based on organically grown food and homemade specialties. The Trebižat river is the perfect setting for a relaxing boat ride in a traditional wooden boat. You’ll see nature’s best from the banks, and hear about the old customs and traditions while having a drink. The pristine waters of the Trebizat River are home to brown trout and crabs and during the summer months, you’re more than welcome to go for a swim. After the boat ride, a local lunch is included with loads of homemade delicacies. After lunch, take a transfer to Dubrovnik.

An excellent trip in a day to Bosnia and Hercegovina. The pick up is on time and everything was very smooth. Marija, our guide was awesome and after this trip to Bosnia we ended up doing another trip with her to Kotor in Montenegro. One advice, hop on to this trip if it is Marija, you won’t regret it. You get to see the wonderful Cravica waterfalls and spend a couple of hours enough to discover Mostar and have delicious food (quite cheap) and so lots of shopping

Mikayla did a great job!!! We were between doing a cruise tour or this private tour and we are SO happy we did this. If you want to see Old Town doing this tour is the best way to see all of it and still have time (and extra money) for a nice lunch, the aerial view with the cable car, and sit down coffee, and shopping. AMAZING!
