Your getting-to-know-you session with Dubrovnik, historical diplomatic liaison for the easy and west, begins with a cable car ride from the newly-opened cable cars station in the Old Town of Dubrovnik. You'll be treated to a panoramic view of Dubrovnik, showcasing the greatness of the entire city and its surrounding hills and centuries-old Dubrovnik rooftops. On the return journey to the main Station, your tour guide will lead you by foot to the Old Town of Dubrovnik. Though it has been subject to fires and catastrophic earthquakes, the gorgeous city has always risen again to retain its title as the world-famous treasury of cultural monuments. Choose to spend time within the Walls of Dubrovnik with included entry. Today's walking tour will introduce you to the best of Dubrovnik, one of the largest and most luxurious open-air museum towns in existence. To start off the day, the famous Croatian tourist center awaits you, encircled by its monumental stone ramparts, which have preserved and enhanced Dubrovnik’s Renaissance spirit. Travel down labyrinths of short, narrow stone streets, the marketplace, palaces, towers, monasteries, and houses - each of which is more than 300 years old! This city's harmony, simplicity, and appreciation of beauty have, through the ages, become the basic philosophy of life for the residents of Dubrovnik.

Dubrovnik Private Sightseeing Tour and Cable Car Ride

3. Dubrovnik Private Sightseeing Tour and Cable Car Ride

On this 6-hour shore excursion you’ll meet your private guide at Dubrovnik’s cruise ship port. Relax in an air-conditioned transfer vehicle on a leisurely drive to the base of Mount Srđ, the 1,352-foot mountain that towers over the city. As you travel, feel free to ask your guide any questions you may have. Board the cable car for a panoramic ride up Mount Srđ. Take in the stunning aerial views of the city and the Dalmatian coast as you ascend to the summit. When you arrive, gaze out at the jaw-dropping views from the 2 panoramic terraces. It is said that on a clear day you can see sights up to 37 miles away. Spend a few moments snapping photos, and then perhaps head to the snack bar or restaurant to refuel with a drink and some food (at your own expense). There is also a souvenir shop where you can buy gifts if you like. After exploring the summit you’ll ride the cable car back down to the base of Mount Srđ. Back on the ground, follow your guide to Dubrovnik Old Town. As you meander through the maze of cobbled streets and narrow passageways, you’ll learn about the area’s rich cultural and historical significance. See Onofrio's Fountain and continue past Sponza Palace. Walk across the main square to see the Baroque Cathedral of the Assumption, which was rebuilt in the 18th century, following an earthquake. Other highlights include the Rector’s Palace and the Church of St. Blaise. After the walking tour, you’ll board the transfer vehicle and return to the port in time for your cruise departure.

Met Sara our guide at 9:00 outside the city walls where our tour begins. We walked around the walls and went to get the cable cars. At the top we stopped for a 30min, you can take panoramic pictures of the whole town and neighbour islands. You can have a rest, grab a coffee and toilets are up there. Then we came down in the cable car and continued our old town tour. You can ask as much questions as possible Sara was knowledgeable and knew her city well. She gave us recommendations where to eat, and see. Tour is only 3h even though the add says 4-5h. You have to do a lot of walking and some stairs so be prepared. If you like to know the history and see the town in detail this is a great activity.

Katarina was our tour guide and she was extremely nice, informative and very well spoken! She gave us so much history, authentic tips and funny little stories! Would recommend Katarina and this tour to everyone.

Great tour and well informed guide. Long enough to take in all the secrets and scars that the old town holds but not too long to become tedious. Nikolena was our tour guide.

Nikolina was lovely and very personable. Her knowledge of Dubrovnik's history and heritage was extensive. We enjoyed our tour very much. Ness and Tam, Australia.

Katarina is a kind and professional guide. We enjoyed the tour, she gave us lots of information about Dubrovnik as well as lots of useful tips,
