Admire the tower of Glendalough, the wild beauty of the Wicklow Mountains, and the medieval city of Kilkenny on a full-day guided tour from Dublin.

Depart from Dublin and make your way directly to Kilkenny, a town that was once the medieval capital of Ireland. Enjoy walking down the cobbled streets and visit the Black Abbey and the Cathedral of Saint Canice. After that, travel through the Wicklow Mountains to your next stop.

Visit the monastic site of Glendalough. Hollywood Blockbusters like ‘P.S. I Love You’ and ‘Braveheart’ have been filmed here. Explore the area renowned for its ruins, magnificent lakes, and waterfalls. Finally, head over to a sheepdog farm and watch a sheepdog herd with his master. Look at the Border Collies using a tactic called “The Eye” on sheep. Witness a shepherd and his dog at work and watch how they herd a flock of sheep.

It was an amazing time. I do wish that we were able to have a little bit more time in our first stop. It since it was a huge park it was a lot of walking in a short amount of time. The guide was very kind and nice. I do say that I wish we also had more time for the area where PS. I love you was filmed. I would definitely recommend this to anyone again and I would totally do another tour with this company. This is the second one I’ve done so far!

It can feel a bit rushed, but you should expect it for this kind of tours, since you visit different locations in one day. The time given to visit Glendalough + Wicklow is too short in my opinion. From the tour description it’s not clear that they are part of the same stage. Although Glendalough is close and directly connected to Wicklow mts, to me it was not clear that they are part of the same stage - 1.5 hours in total for both. If you stay in the flat area around the lake you should be fine, but if you go for any hiking trail on the mountains be ready to rush a bit or not finishing the loop as you might run out of time. In Kilkenny I advise to visit the castle and then eat something - exploring the whole city is also doable but in that case you’ll have no time to sit at a restaurant. The sheep dog demonstration was interesting but I personally would have preferred staying more time at Wicklow. Kids will love it :) Great value for the money you pay.

Yvonne was an excellent guide; funny and informative. Vendran was a great driver. The tour itself was well designed; Glenn da Loch was gorgeous. Would have really appreciated about 30 minutes more in Kilkenny. Really enjoyed the surprise on the drive home; just a perfect way to pass the time.
