Full description

Among the many highlights of this full-day tour are visits to Cong Abbey and Lough Corrib. You’ll stop for 1.5 hours in the charming village of Cong, which became famous when it was featured in the film, The Quiet Man, starring John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara. Explore the ruins of Cong Abbey and take in the stunning views of the surrounding lakes. There are some local cafés that would be perfect for lunch! The tour then continues on through some of the most remote landscape in Ireland, and along deserted valleys that offer views of the lakes and mountains of Connemara. Stop at some of the most scenic points in the region. Later you’ll travel along the coast, admiring the fine views of Galway Bay as you make your way into Galway City. You’ll have a couple of hours to experience Ireland’s coolest city! In Galway you have the option of joining a local walking tour with a Galway tour guide or simply explore the charming city on your own before returning to Dublin.

It was a lovely tour. Danny the Guide & Driver was absolutely great. He had a good knowledge & did not only told us interesting facts but also some myths and folklore. Apart from the regular infos, Danny was open for all our questions and a nice little chat. For my opinion the stop in Cong could have been a bit shorter, maybe one hour so that you would have more time in Galway, or for some more photostops along the way.

What a disappointment. The driver who was also our guide rushed through Connemara national park and the cities. At the national park wee only left the bus 3 times for about 2-5 minutes. We had the impression that the driver just wanted to get it over with and brought us back 1h40 ahead of time. It is no tour for you if you want to experience the countryside, but just want ro rush through so you can say "i've seen it".

It was an excellent tour, cash the bus driver was very funny and knowledgeable. The only negative of the tour was that in Galway we were told that we were changing buses, as we were on a one day tour not the three-day tour. Very little information was given on this surprise notice except an address to catch the next bus. That bus which we eventually found dropped us off at a different location in Dublin with no information prior to the drop off where we were being dropped off or how to get back to the original drop off point we were left on our own.
