    Great tour - learn about the construction and history of the building and get to see the daytime activities of the opera house (rehearsal, stagecraft, setting etc.) Be sure to buy a photo licence from the main entrance before the start time of the tour!

    Lovely guide who was very knowledged and shared interesting facts and little anecdotes. Make sure to book the Semperoper tour outside of the theatre holidays if you want to see entire stage design as it was closed to visitors in August, while a guest theatre company was using the opera house during the holidays.

    Our tour guide was very personable and wanted to give us as much information as possible. Very easy to get into the tour. You stand by the main entrance and wait for an employee to scan your booking and let you inside. Note - you have to pay 3 euro to take any photos at all inside the Opera... I personally think this is a rip-off and would have probably just pulled up images on my phone after the tour if I wanted them. I only ended up taking a few photos because the 45 minute guided tour flew by.
