Full description
This vaults tour takes you beneath the streets of Edinburgh's Old Town into a dimly lit space that many considered to be haunted. Your 1-hour tour visits the vaults of the South Bridge that date back to the 1700s. These are the same vaults mentioned on Most Haunted Live as one of the scariest places on earth. Learn how the vaults been used over the years, and the living conditions endured by the poor and homeless residents who frequented them. The darker side of Edinburgh's history will unfold as you wander through the candle-lit underground area. From your costumed guide, you'll hear about the Burke and Hare murders and the persecution of witches. Discover the characters who stalked the streets of Edinburgh, and the paranormal stories associated with the vaults.  The Haunted Vaults tour option will cover more paranormal and ghost stories. Sophie was very friendly, fun and knowledgeable about the vaults and could even answer questions about other things we asked about. Very informative and fun. We even managed to capture an orb on camera from the vault where the women and children died from the results of the fire. Very cool!

Sophie was great! I loved her story-telling style. She was quite knowledgeable and authentic. It was a good mix of scary, funny, and mind-stimulating experience. She was so passionate and enthusiastic, she is the perfect person for the job. I would love to go back and show my friends and family aroud for the tour! Cheers!

Our tour guide, Tuesday, was absolutely fantastic and was very informative and funny and I’d highly recommend! I was a wee bit scared, especially my slight fear of the dark but Tuesday made everyone feel comfortable and offered to take anyone out of the vaults if they felt the need to leave but no one did. No watered down information, just straight facts (however grim they may have been) which is what I look for in any tour THANK YOU, Tuesday!!
