Full description
Combined guided kayak and bicycle tour of the Ebro Delta: Our route starts at Riu a l'Ebre, We go out along the river walk with the Ebro on our left until we find the bridge "Lo Passador", and cross it using the bike path on it. We pass in front of the Racó del Riu restaurant and take the river walk that follows the course of the river -this is on our left- it is sealed way until the end of the village, Sant Jaume d'Enveja. At the end of the sealed path we find a dirt road fenced in by a wooden railing. The road runs parallel to the river, although most of the way it cannot be seen. We will arrive at one of the last preserved river forests, known as "The Grove", with native species, and then you get to Mas de la Comandanta, a stately construction surrounded by rice fields. We continue for about 7 km until the end of the towpath. At this point we find a metal structure that is used as a small bridge and, once crossed the irrigation canal, We will find on the left an old boat crossing known as Barcaza de Buda which was formerly used during the winter to access the island, when the storms left inaccessible its usual entrance located on the beach of Migjorn. At this point we will leave the bicycles and we will enter the Migjorn river to navigate in a kayak bordering the Island of Buda, one of the wildest and most inaccessible areas of the Delta. Throughout the walk we can enjoy the magnificent vegetation that can be seen on the banks of the river: reed, hurdles and eucalyptus among others, that give freshness and are impregnated in our retina. The tour will come to an end at Migjorn beach, where our team will pick you up to make the return to Riu a l’Ebre by vehicle. Departures every Thursday at 10:00h del 15 July to 15 of September. Buddha Way Route (approximately 3 to 3 and a half hours) If you need a dry area to deposit personal items, waterproof containers are available for rent.
