Beschreibung

Verbringen Sie den Tag mit einer Fahrt durch das bewaldete Troodos-Gebirge und entdecken Sie auf dieser Tour mit dem Geländewagen einige der wildesten Landschaften Zyperns. Sehen Sie Weinberge, Wasserfälle, Bergdörfer wie Lefkara, Pinienwälder und vieles mehr.

Wir starten unsere Tour am beeindruckenden Dipotamos-Staudamm, wo wir einen Fotostopp einlegen. Anschließend geht es weiter zum idyllischen Bergdorf Lefkara, das für seine aufwendig gefertigten Spitzen und Silberwaren bekannt ist. Wir machen einen kleinen Abstecher in den Mesa Potamos-Wald, wo Sie auch an einer optionalen Wanderung teilnehmen können.

Wenn Sie Appetit bekommen haben, wird Ihnen in einer Dorftaverne ein Mittagessen im Meze-Stil serviert. Anschließend fahren wir zu einem malerischen Waldwasserfall, dessen eiskaltes Wasser 20 Meter in die Tiefe stürzt. Zudem machen wir Halt für eine Weinprobe, gefolgt von einem Besuch im Dorf Omodos, wo Sie durch enge Gassen schlendern und in einem lokalen „Kafenion” einen zypriotischen Kaffee probieren können. Ein erfrischender Abschluss eines erlebnisreichen Tages.

    Die Tour war sehr gut, man hat zwar viel im Defender gesessen, aber trotzdem sehr viel gesehen. Tolle kleine Dörfer besucht, tolles Meze Mittagessen und leckere Weinprobe. Der Fahrer Fanos ist einfach genial, lustig und macht die Tour zu einer ganz besonderen.

    Wenn man einen deutschsprachigen Guide Bucht, möchte ich diesen auch während der ganzen Tour haben und nicht nur an den Treffpunkten. Den einen Stopp an dem Kaffee ist völlig unsinnig. Man sitzt da 15-20 min.rum und kann nicht's machen. Diese Zeit hätte ich lieber für den letzten Stopp im Dorf gehabt.

    Die toll organisierte und geführte Tour bietet den perfekten Einblick in die Zyprische Kultur, das Leben und auch die Probleme der Menschen auf der Insel. Der Guide Fanos kann als Einheimischer viel erzählen und glänzt durch seine witzige Art. Wichtig ist bei der Tour, dass die Teilnehmer sich selbst unterhalten, da die Etappen teilweise bis zu 45 min Fahrt im Jeep voneinander entfernt sind.     Es war ein sehr schöner Trip. Lange Fahrtzeit aber das weiß man wenn man den Ausflug bucht. Aufenthalt im Bergdorf eher kurz, wäre schön wenn diese länger wären. Essen super. Der Fahrer war super nett viel erklärt. Fazit ich würde den Ausflug wieder buchen

    Wir hatten einen sehr schönen und interessanten Ausflug. Unser Fahrer Fanos hat uns während der Fahrt viel über die Insel und auch über die Pflanzenwelt erzählt und hat auch immer mal wieder angehalten, um uns Pflanzen zu zeigen oder Gelegenheit zu geben, Fotos zu machen. Auch die Fahrt im Defender hat der ganzen Gruppe viel Spaß gemacht. Das Mittagessen war sehr lecker und genug, dass alle satt geworden sind. Die anschließende Weinprobe war auch wirklich klasse.

Cyprus is all rolling hills dotted with pretty villages. On this adults-only tour, you'll see where a legend was born, visit the ruins of Kourion, venture to the village of Omodos and cap off the day with a wine tasting. Eva, one of our local guides, says of this excursion, ‘You'll wander through layers of history, culture and mythology.'You'll dive straight into the past at Kourion, one of the most impressive archaeological sites in Cyprus. Visit the Roman baths and amble into the site's centrepiece, the Greco-Roman theatre. Concerts are still held to this day. While the mosaics of the trio of excavated houses known as those of Eustolius, the Gladiators and Achilles are as impressive as when they were laid down. The 15th-century Kolossi Castle is up next. This steeped-in-legend Crusader-built fortress is nowadays surrounded by blooming plants. Then, we'll head for a local lunch in a family-run taverna before visiting mountain-fringed Omodos where you'll wander around skinny cobbled streets lined with Byzantine buildings. It's Eva's favourite village. She says, ‘The charm of the stone houses, the tranquillity and peace. It's as if it has sprung from a fairytale. I love dropping into one of the cafés and seeing locals have philosophical discussions, political arguments and a bit of gossip.' To finish, there's a wine tasting session, where you'll learn all about sweet commandaria wine – one of the oldest varieties in the world.

There are very similar tombs in Alexandria, demonstrating the strong ties between the two cities in ancient times.'After a coffee pit-stop along the way, you'll stop by Kourion archaeological site to see landmarks such as the theatre – dating from the 2nd century BC – and the Agora. En route to Paphos, there's a photo stop at Petra tou Romiou – or Aphrodite's Rock – where, legend has it, the ancient Greek goddess of love and beauty emerged from the sea foam. Andreas says, ‘At Kourion, you see the ruined house of Eustolios and find out what life was like here before the city was destroyed by an earthquake in the 4th century.'Next, we'll head to ancient Paphos for a guided visit of the Tombs of the Kings, the House of Dionysos and its well-preserved mosaics. Andreas says, ‘The rock-hewn Tombs of the Kings were not actually intended for royalty, but instead the aristocracy and island governors were laid to rest here. The name reflects the sheer grandeur of the necropolis.' Later, you'll enjoy some free time to shop and wander around Paphos Harbour. Maybe you can stroll along the waterfront or grab a bite to eat at one of the many terrace cafés.
