Erlebnisse in Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos
Der Alcazar de los Reyes Cristianos zählt zu den wichtigsten Baudenkmälern von Córdoba. Der Bau dieser Verteidigungsanlage wurde 1328 von König Alfonso XI. von Kastilien angeordnet. Den Besucher erwarten dort herrliche Gärten und Innenhöfe, in denen die ursprünglichen Traditionen bewahrt blieben. Der Alcazar ist neben der Moschee und der Synagoge eine der meistbesuchten Sehenswürdigkeiten der Stadt. Im Jahr 1931 wurde er zu einer Stätte von besonderem kulturellen Interesse erklärt und er ist Teil der Altstadt von Córdoba, die wiederum 1994 von der UNESCO zum Weltkulturerbe erklärt wurde. Die Katholischen Könige verbrachten mehr als acht Jahre in dieser Festung und führten von dort aus den Feldzug gegen das Königreich Granada an. In der Torre del Homenaje bat Christoph Kolumbus 1486 um finanzielle Mittel für sein Seefahrtabenteuer.
