Enjoy a full-day discovery tour of the Algarve, a region steeped in old traditions, encompassed by both the mountains and the sea. This tour will be the perfect way to acquaint yourself with it, following less travelled paths to give you an overview of Portugal's past and present.
You'll first travel to the town of Silves, in Moorish times the capital of the Algarve. There you'll visit the castle and next the Gothic cathedral, before wandering the town's narrow streets and alleys. You'll then continue to the Monchique Mountains, where you'll stop at the village of Caldas de Monchique, which is famous for its spring waters claimed to have medicinal properties. Following the winding road to the highest point in the Algarve, you'll arrive to Fóia, standing at 902 metres above sea-level.
Downhill from Fóia, you'll have lunch in a local restaurant, after which you'll get to the Costa Vicentina for some relaxing time at the beach. End the tour with a visit to the town of Sagres.
