  • The Original Delos Guided Tour from the Cruise Ship Port

    1. The Original Delos Guided Tour from the Cruise Ship Port

This 5-hour tour begins with a sea bus ride from the new port of Mykonos to the old port. This is followed by a 30-minute boat ride from Mykonos to Delos. Once you arrive on Delos you’ll receive an introduction to the ancient and sacred site. With your guide, you’ll explore the narrow city streets. Marvel at the impressive house of Dionysus and the exceptional mosaics, well-preserved marble columns and wall paintings. See other monuments in the urban area, including the Theater of Delos. Take a walk along the main street to the market and the sanctuary zone. Here you’ll find the Stoa of Phillipe, the Propylaia, the Colossus of the Naxians and the Temple of Apollo.

Our guide, Athena, was an excellent historian and archeologist. We enjoyed her explanation of the site.

A big treat was the wonderful feast of home cooked Greek food waiting on us about 2/3 through the tour. Bring your most comfortable pair of shoes and be prepared to experience a incredible hike. If you’re thinking about taking a trip to Thirasia while in Santorini…don’t just think about it…do it!! And make sure Nicole is your guide.

MARVELOUS DELOS !!

We booked this amazing tour from Delos Travels to see the ruins located on Delos, the island near Mykonos. Our guide Athena is very knowledgeable on the history of the ruins and about this Greek island of Delos - she pointed out things that we would not have known just walking around on our own... plus: she was one among other archaeologists who excavated and studied some of the ruins, how cool is that :) We came from a cruise with very limited time to further explore the vastness of the area but we surely covered a lot of ground and finished such an impressive tour of these ruins that date back to 2500 BC !!

The tour itself was short (one hour and thirty minutes). The ship didn't get clearance for some reason so we were late to the excursion. The lady was very knowledgeable and had a lot of good information. There was a lot of things to see after the tour was over. I spent another hour on the island. The boat leaves at 1 and 2pm.
