Full description

Reconnect with nature on a guided 2-day, 1-night tour to the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. From Cusco, visit Awanacancha, Pisac Market, the Pisac Inca site, Ollantaytambo, Aguas Calientes, and Machu Picchu.

Day 1: Cusco – Sacred Valley – Aguas Calientes

Get picked up from your hotel in Cusco, meet your guide, then take a 30-minute drive to Awanacancha, a textile center and farm. Get a chance to see the llamas, alpacas, viñuna, and guanacos.

Learn about the farm’s variety of South American animals. Then, visit the textile center to learn the weaving process and how the locals get the natural colors. You can shop here as well.

Afterward, take a 30-minute ride to a lookout point of the Sacred Valley. Take in scenic views of the Andes, Urubamba River, and the Sacred Valley’s farming lands of the Incas.

Next, visit the Pisac archaeological site, located on top of the mountains with impressive stone walls, agricultural terraces, irrigation systems, and the Inca Empire’s largest cemetery.

After exploring, head to the local Pisac Market, a handicraft market where artisans sell their ceramics, textiles, jewelry, Andean instruments, alpaca products, and souvenirs.

Later, take a 1-hour ride to Urubamba for lunch in a local restaurant that offers various local Peruvian dishes made with fresh local products.

Near the end of your day, head to the town of Ollantaytambo, the last standing Inca citadel. The town is built above ancient Inca buildings. Explore the town’s archeological site that features temples, terraces, storehouses, and a large Inca monolithic.

After exploring Ollantaytambo, take the train to Aguas Calientes and spend the night in a hotel.

Day 2: Machu Picchu – Cusco

Wake up early at your hotel, have breakfast, and take one of the first busses up to Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, simply show an original passport at the checkpoint to enter the citadel.

First, take a short hike to the Sungate of Inca Bridge before exploring the fortress with your guide. Enjoy a guided tour for about 3 hours, visiting the most remarkable terraces, storehouses, temples, and palaces.

Spend some free time exploring the site by yourself or take an optional, extra hike to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain.

After exploring Machu Picchu, take the bus down to Aguas Calientes, have lunch on your own (optional), then take a ride in the Vistadome panoramic train. Once back to Ollantaytambo, take a van back to your hotel in Cusco.

Although i'm sure we could have paid less, it was well worth go. Our guide, Herbert Vidal, was very knowledgeable and explained more the more we asked. We didn't worry about anything, just enjoyed the Inca monumentos and ruins. The trips were confortable and the only lateness was on the train to Machupichu. We Will recomend this trip to our friends. The one thing that could be better would be us chosing the time of the train to and from Machupichu
