Full description
After being picked up from your accommodation in Cusco at around 7:30AM, you will be taken on a road that winds around the mountains north of the city. On the way, you will stop at a famous point known as El Mirador (Lookout Point). From there, you will be able to see the Sacred Valley, and gain some insight into the history of the Inca. The Sacred Valley was one of the main areas the Incas settled, as there is an unusual abundance of fertile plains in this high area of the Andes. You will also be able to witness vast contour terracing and irrigation channels left behind by the Incas. Later on, you will drive towards the ruins of Pisac. Here, you will witness and learn about Inca culture, and also see some amazing works of stone art and impressive agricultural terraces. You will then head to the town of Urubamba, where you will sit down for a delicious buffet lunch. Following lunch, you will drive along the Urubamba River towards the town of Ollantaytambo. Once you reach Ollantaytambo, you will visit the ruins, an important area of Incan construction which was built during the Inca’s heyday. This is an extraordinary Inca site in which you can find rock formations representing the Inca god, Wiracocha. You will then continue to Chinchero to see how natural dyes are made for artisanal textiles, with this town’s inhabitants living in dwellings and conditions nearly the same as their ancestors. They dress in multicolored clothing, speak only Quechua, and maintain age-old customs. At the conclusion of your tour, you will be returned to Cusco at around 7:00PM.

The tour was excellent, I would definitely recommend it. We were the first to get picked up around 7:30, then the van went around picking people up from their hotels. There were 15 of us total and we left Cusco a bit after 8. The tour guide, Eddy, was excellent. He explained the history of Cusco its people, and the culture on the ride, and told us about each place we stopped at. We were dropped off and had an hour for lunch. The buffet at T’ika Wasi Restaurant was underwhelming and bland but the restaurant was very pretty. After lunch, most of our group stayed in Ollantaytambo. Our van was made up of people who had purchased different tour packages. Most of them were getting the train at Ollantaytambo to Machu Pichu. A few of us continued on to Chinchero then Cusco. Chinchero was great, some of the most beautiful genuine alpaca, bring cash! A great tour, learned a lot, really enjoyed it. Would highly recommend it.

A little confusion to start, told us pickup was between 0730-0800. Showed up at 0815. Than drove around in the van for 20 mins. We than went to their tourist transport area and sat there for 20 mins with no explanation. We wasted almost an hour time before we started the tour. Once we started the tour, realized my wife and I were the only English speakers, every one else in the van (12 total) were Spanish speakers. The tour guide was very good and bilingual, explaining everything in both English and Spanish. The tour itself was excellent and really enjoyed the places we visited and the time we spent at each location. The buffet lunch itself was pretty good, but started too late and lasted too long. 1330-1445. Only needed 30 mins and was starving by the time we got there. Overall, I would recommend the tour and would do it again.

I was in Cusco and the Sacred Valley of the Incas for the first time almost 9 years ago. I had very good memories of the tour and the other activities. This tour was also very nice, but the guide didn't do a great tour. During the trip (and we drove many hours on the bus) little or no information was given. The guide preferred listening to music on headphones. In the respective attractions, we ran in the group to a point (pretty much at the beginning of each visit) where he gave us stories about the place and the Incas for 15-20 minutes. Very informative, but not a common thread or straight to the place. More basically about the Incas. Then you had 30 minutes to run up the mountain to see some more points. Then quickly back to the bus and to the next point. Not enough time to explore these great places. I love Peruvian food, but lunch was the worst Peruvian food I've ever had.
