Cu Chi Tunnels and 30 Minute Foot Massage

3. Cu Chi Tunnels and 30 Minute Foot Massage

Be collected from your accommodation then head to Cu Chi. Along the way, watch as the frantic city scenery transitions into a more peaceful rural setting. See the rice paddy farms, quaint roadside vendors, and increasingly lush greenery.  Once you arrive, begin with a tour of the Cu Chi Tunnels, an underground network of pathways, hideouts, sleeping quarters, meeting rooms, hospitals, and Hoang Cam Stove. These narrow tunnels provide barely enough space for a single person to crawl their way through, though some are now wider to accommodate visitors. Learn that the mere 10 to 13 feet (3 to 4 meter) thick level of upper soil can support the bearing weight of a 55 ton (50 metric ton) tank and the explosive damage of bombs.  Watch an insightful film about the wartime experience before further exploring the tunnel's trap doors and underground quarters. Then make a visit to huge bomb craters left from the war, the Garment-factory Ammunition and Souvenir Shops, and the Museum of Self-made Weapons. Get the exhilarating opportunity to fire an M-15, AK-47, and a carbine rifle at the National Defense Sports Shooting Range for a true wartime experience. Finally, savor local tapioca before the comfortable ride back to Ho Chi Minh City. Head to a local foot massage parlor to treat your feet after a long day of walking in the Cu Chi Tunnels. After the massage, be taken back to your accommodation.

What people are saying about Cu Chi Tunnels

Good value for money, guide 'Mike' was informative and jokey, picked up from and to our hotel. We were picked up 10 mins late, and had what I thought was an unnecessary stop on the way, but this turned out to be a good thing, as all other groups arrived early, so when we got there, there was still other groups, but by time we got to the tunnel walking, we were the only ones left, so had the place to ourselves, which was nice.

Excellent in every respect. Ethan the guide was great and everything went According to plan from the pickup to the boat ride, tunnels and lunch. Ethan passed on masses of knowledge and was a great guide. If you only do one trip out of Saigon, do this one with Kim Travel.
