In the early morning, we will collect you from your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City and you will be accompanied by an English-speaking guide to the Cu Chi tunnels, located approximately 60 km away. Upon arrival, you will watch a documentary about the tunnels and discover how the locals crafted bamboo traps, rice paper, and rice wine. You will also have the opportunity to explore the intricate network of underground tunnels created by Vietnamese resistance fighters. Afterward, we will proceed to My Tho, which is one of the provinces that form the Mekong Delta region. A boat cruise along the upper Mekong will take you through a section of the area that features islands named after four animals found in Buddhist literature – Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix, and Turtle. During this segment of the tour, you will gain insight into the everyday life of local Vietnamese and understand how their existence revolves around the River. Next, we will embark on a rowboat excursion along the small waterways.
