Full description

Start your day with pickup from selected regions in Crete and first head to Heraklion for a guided tour of Knossos Palace. Walk through this Minoan palace with your guide and find out how people lived here 4,000 years ago. The Throne Room, the frescoes, and the Minoan columns will allow you to imagine how the Minoans once lived. Continue towards the city center of Heraklion where you can visit the Archaeological Museum and the town itself. The Archaeological Museum brings together findings from all over Crete, covering over 5,500 years of the island's history.   Head to the Heraklion town center and walk through Daidalou Street to Lion Square and the famous Morosini Fountain of the Venetian era. The tour started early with an early pick up for the coach. We finished at Knossos beating the midday sun and the long queues leading out to the car park. Heraklion is very busy to walk around. Eleni stayed with us to show us the important buildings and the museum before some free time to explore the market and venetian harbour and get some lunch before returning to the car park for the journey back to our Hotel. The tour finished in Heraklion outside the museum. Which although small on the outside has some incredible artefacts. It is well worth the visit, a minibus came to take us back to our hotel in Koutouloufari.

Absolutely loved it. Our guide was fantastic and the trip was really well organized. I'm very happy I didn't decided to go on my own, as I wouldn't have been able to wait in the long line to get my Palace Knossos ticket. So, well done to all, it was great!

Transport was the only reason to rate 4/5 - because we were staying in a hotel the furthest away it meant quite a long travel time which is not the fault of the company but do thing it could be arranged more efficiently to avoid this, we stayed in Elounda and it was more of an 11 hour day rather than the advertised 9 hour. Tour guide was excellent, very informative.
