Learn, why people sometimes go to Cologne's breweries to confess and why it's better not to order water there. Taste 4 different freshly tapped varieties of Kölsch beer and learn why it is the favorite drink of Cologne's inhabitants. Try a traditional Halver Hahn at one of the breweries - half a rye roll with butter, cheese, mustard and onions. We were two couples, so four people with Harry - the boss himself. He has a 'Kölsch Schnüss' but is also fluent in High German :-). We had booked the 'brewery tour with Kölsch, Klaaf & "Halver Hahn". It was really great and had a high fun factor - an absolute highlight of our weekend tour in Cologne!

You learn a lot about the origin of the "Kölsch", about the first Kölsch breweries, the different types of Kölsch and where the name "Köbes" comes from, as the waiters are called in the breweries. In addition, there are 4 different types of Kölsch to taste in 4 different restaurants of different sizes in Cologne's old town, from tart to milder types. You learn a lot about the art of brewing and are very well entertained for 2 hours. Our guide was very knowledgeable and knew an answer to all questions. The tour is highly recommended.

On Saturday afternoon we enjoyed the privilege of being alone with the head of the agency.
