Full-Day Tuscany-Latium Wine Experience

1. Full-Day Tuscany-Latium Wine Experience

Stroll through scenic vineyards and sample local wines at 2 wineries in Maremma, a hidden gem of Tuscany. The day begins in Civitavecchia with pickup from your hotel or a designated meeting point. From here, travel approximately 40 miles to Southern Tuscany, an area rich in history and tradition that will impress you with its natural beauty. The first stop of the day is at Montauto farm. Surrounded by typical Tuscan Maremma landscapes, this is the perfect place to learn about and sample Morellino di Scansano and other wines produced in this region. The winery offers a wide range of products, suitable for every palate and occasion. Between wineries, stop to take a dip in Saturnia, Cascate del Mulino – one of Italy's most popular hot spring destinations. Take a relaxing soak in pools that are naturally 37°C (98°F) all year round and enjoy the unique landscape. Next, head to Cantine Vignaioli, a winery founded in 1972 when a small group of producers from Scansano decided to combine their efforts in wine production. Whether you are a beginner or a wine connoisseur, you will surely enjoy the guided tour through the cellar and its surroundings. While you walk, learn the history of Morellino and its journey from the fields to the cellars. Following the tour, taste five wines paired with local products. At the end of the day, your English-speaking driver will bring the group back to the hotels and meeting points.

Andrea was amazing, he was very knowledgeable as a guide. He definitely knows his way around the area and he definitely knows his stuff! We arrived slightly earlier and he managed to meet us and tweaked the itinerary so we can fit in more sightseeing views on the way to the cellars. Andrea’s choice of the wine cellars was top notch! The wine was amazing, the people at the winery were so knowledgeable and welcoming and the views were beyond compare. Andrea even tried to fit in an extra cellar in the day when he found out our preferences, really exceptional! I highly recommend Andrea if you are planning this journey. And take with you swimming suits as you get to take a dip in the Terme Di Saturnia!

Magical day of private touring!

This tour was wonderful. From being picked up by Luigi at our hotel, to touring the ruins and walking through the countryside with our wonderful guide, to a delicious home cooked meal at the Oil Factory to the wine tasting, it was wonderful. I think the high point must have been our lunch and the olive oil tasting, as that was spectacular and everything was delicious. Our tour guide was charismatic, fun and a joy to spend the day with. Her English was fantastic and we really enjoyed spending the time with her. The only area for improvement would have been the wine tasting, as we would have really loved to have tasted some prossecco, but that's a minor note.

Excellent, interesting and well thought out day

We appreciated our guides knowledge of the region and her ability to impart information in a friendly , informal way. We loved the seeing the historical sights, and learning about the area, and we especially enjoyed our lunch at a local , family owned restaurant, with great food, ambiance and wine . We would have enjoyed seeing another winery or two, but we're very satisfied . Laura was excellent and I highly recommend her
