Within the underground city of Etruscopolis however, the ways of this ancient people are once again brought back to life. This historic site contains a museum of recreated artifacts, which were lovingly crafted by the artist Omero, who is known as “the last of the Etruscans.” See tombs, homes, objects, and scenes of daily life. Understand Etruscan culture through objects as well as intricate dioramas. Explore an underground Etruscan quarry from the 4th-century BC which spans 15,000 square meters. The underground guide and tour was interesting & nice. The tour took us about 1.5 hours. It appeared our driver was pre occupied and not interested in making our experience memorable. Technically we still have 3 1/2 more hours to explore, if you include 30 min travel time up and back. The driver showed us part of the town about 30 more min. and had nothing else for us to see other than have lunch. We told her to just bring us back to the ship. Very expensive for a 2 hr excursion.
