Our first stop is in Nazareth where Jesus spent the first years of his life. Tour the magnificent Church of Annunciation that marks the site where Mary first learned of her future son. Then explore the 1st-century grotto dwelling under Saint Joseph’s Church. According to tradition, Mary, Joseph, and their son Jesus may once have lived here. The tour takes you to the edge of the Sea of Galilee, and the Mount of Beatitudes. Here you can picture Jesus preaching to his followers. Here we tour the Multiplication Church where Jesus miraculously shared five loaves and two fish between thousands of followers. The next stop is in Kfar Nachum (Capernaum). This is where Jesus spent most of his ministry. After a lunch break at a Galilee restaurant, we stop on the banks of the River Jordan, at Yardenit. If there is enough time you may be baptized at this traditional baptismal site. The tour makes its way south passing the twin peaks of the Horns of Hattin, where Saladin famously defeated the Crusaders in 1187. At the end of the tour, you’ll be returned to the port in Haifa in time to board the cruise ship and continue your adventure.

5. From Tel Aviv: Nazareth, Galilee & the Sea of Galilee Tour

During this tour, you'll visit important holy places for the Christians in the Galilee Mountains where Christ spent most of his life on earth. Drive through the Galilee to visit Nazareth, a relatively small city which is the cradle of Christianity where the Virgin Mary and Jesus Christ lived. One of the first stops is the Church of the Annunciation, the traditional site of Mary’s home. Afterwards, head to The St. Joseph Church, built on the location of the carpentry workshop of Joseph, father of Jesus. After leaving Nazareth, make a short stop in Kfar Cana where Jesus performed his first miracle by changing water into wine. Then, continue to the Church at Tabgha, the site of the miracle of the multiplication of loaves and fishes. Proceed from Tabgha to Capernaum, a remnant of the once-thriving Jewish community from the 2nd century and where Jesus began his ministry. View the ancient Synagogue and the home of St. Peter. Finally, drive through the city of Tiberias to Yardenit and experience the spirituality and pastoral beauty of the waters of the River Jordan, in which Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist.

Group was just two of us and the guide. We saw Sea of Galilee, Tabgha, Church of Annunciation, Mount of Beatitudes, Kapernaum, House of Peter and more. Many facts were shared from the guide about Jewish and Arabic cultures, about the region, history and archaeology of the sites. Guide Danny was very professional, knowledgeable, patient and open. It was amazing to learn about experiences from the point of view of the person who lives in Israel. We were able to try Arabic sweets and buy some exotic fruit, we also sampled Mediterranean cuisine with the Jewish twist. It was amazing to sample side dishes which were many different combinations of vegetables, Kebob, and fresh fish. Overall the tour was worth spending the time and money, well thought out and tailored to our requests. There were also recommendations in what would be interesting to do in other cities and places.

Really interesting combination of sites on this tour with great views of the north of Israel on the coach up. The Sea of Galilee is stunning! It’s a long day trip but worth it for the tour of all the sites included. Thank you for a fantastic visit.

The guide was very knowledgeable on every place we went. He was very patient and made sure that non off would be separated from the group. It was one of the best tours I had ever done.
