Full description
The day begins with your pickup in Chiang Mai and a continental breakfast on the farm. Greet the horses and receive an instruction to horse riding. The trekking tour will be guided by an experienced local tour guide, and pictures will be taken to be sent to guests.  The first 20 minutes of the tour will be done on foot, leading the horse so that you and the horse can get used to each other. Once the riding group feels comfortable with their horses and saddle, the tour begins. Most of the tour will be at a slow pace, except for when the path requires a faster pace or the whole group wishes to go faster.  The first half of the tour will lead over a mountain, through the jungle and past the beautiful lake Huai Cho. Break at a golden Buddha statue before reaching your lunch point. Lunch will be prepared by local Lahu, who use a traditional way of cooking where the food is prepared in bamboo over open fire.

It was an amazing experience. If you're looking for a tour to get away from the urban life and enjoy the great nature of Chiang Mai, this is it. After having a delicious breakfast surrounded by the host's family and their friendly dogs, we went on to ride a horse and got into a forest. Going through such a beautiful nature was so refreshing. (It was so cute that two dogs of theirs followed us all the way through by the way:D) At the mid point, we had an awesome lunch under a shack in the forest. The food was completely organic and tasted "nature." After a short break we went back to their house and the driver took me home. Loved everything. Very friendly people, gentle horses, cute dogs and so on. One thing you should know is that your bottom would hurt if you're skinny cuz it's a long ride. Better to bring something like a cushion or ask them.

Great way to experience part of the Thai jungle even without having experience on horseback. The very warm welcome, magnificent place, the course includes a lot of ascent and descent which are accessible only by Himalayan horses. To do!
