Fortified churches are very interesting.

The trip was private and it took us to three churches, one of which wasn't even officially open as a museum. Our guide spoke to the caretaker and she opened a chapel with frescoes, not available to the public. The guide was knowledgeable and slightly quirky; he sang Ave Maria in the second church and helped me find a book on local legends.

Active Travel was Great and accommodating!

We had “George” who was knowledgeable and flexible. Have us a running history of Romania everywhere we went. Went on our time schedule (accompanied our late morning train arrival) and allowed us to spend as much time as we wanted at each stop. Even gave us the Best Restaurants list in Braşov.

It was a decent, well planned and enjoyable tour. It hit the highlights but wasn’t anything mind-blowing. The guide gave good info and was nice. However, the tour was much shorter than advertised and I was finished in just under 5 hours.
