Day 1: Bucharest to Bucovina You will be picked up by a professional guide from either your hotel in Bucharest or Otopeni Airport. From there you will endure a long drive to Bucovina, but you will benefit from a luxury Mercedes Vklass van or a similar car, making your entire vacation comfortable. You will begin by visiting the Humor Monastery and the Voronet monastery, before an overnight in Gura Humorului in a 3-star hotel (with breakfast included). Following pickup from your accommodation in Brasov head 15 minutes outside the city, to the starting point of the hike towards the Seven Ladders Canyon. Enjoy an easy 1.5 hour hike through the forest, at the foothills of Piatra Mare mountain. Pass through the idyllic forest and continue along the trail until you reach the entrance to the canyon. After a short briefing, climb on metal ladders and bridges to continue your journey through the first gorge. It was a decent, well planned and enjoyable tour. It hit the highlights but wasn’t anything mind-blowing. The guide gave good info and was nice. However, the tour was much shorter than advertised and I was finished in just under 5 hours.
