1. From Brasov: Small-Group Brown Bear Watching Tour

After pickup from the meeting point in central Brasov, you’ll head straight into the Transylvanian forest for your brown-bear-watching adventure. Among the world’s largest carnivores, male brown bears can weigh up to 750 pounds, with an estimated 5,500 individuals living in the Carpathian region of Romania.  After arriving in the forest, your guide, an experienced forest ranger, will take you on a 20-minute walk to the hideaway from which you’ll watch the bears. Gaze out into the forest, keeping your eyes peeled for the massive creatures, alongside the other varied fauna that live in the region, from wild boar to deer and lynx. All the while, your guide will fill you in on fascinating information about the peculiarities of the region’s wildlife and ecosystem. Afterwards, you’ll head back to the meeting point in Brasov.

Brasov: Small-Group 7 Ladders Canyon Day Trip

2. Brasov: Small-Group 7 Ladders Canyon Day Trip

The starting point of your walk is just a short drive away from Brasov. Once you are there, you will head directly to the Seven Ladders Canyon (Canionul Sapte Scari) in the Piatra Mare range, part of the Southern Carpathian Mountains. This stunning gorge is famous for its steep ladders that take you up the rock walls past a series of rushing waterfalls. Upon arrival, you will set off along meadow and forest paths, reaching the canyon after a 45-minute hike. Afterwards, you can opt to rest here or enter the rock chasm with your experienced guide. You can then head inside, where you will spend the next 15 minutes or so crossing the bridges and climbing each of the near-vertical metal ladders that make up the gorge. As you go, you will enjoy thrilling close-up views of the tumbling waters and the towering rock walls around you. Following your trek, you will rejoin your group and choose between a 1.5-hour return route or a harder 2 to 3 hour trail, walking back through forests and glades to your vehicle. After your hike, your tour ends back at your Brașov hotel.

Our Small-Group Trip to Libearty Bear Sanctuary from Brasov will take you from the city to Libearty Bear Sanctuary in Zarnesti. The bears’ want to tell you something: This is not a zoo! It’s our forest. Please respect it! Do not throw us food, because we don’t need it! Please switch off your mobiles! Do not use the flashes! They bother us! Do not eat or drink in front of us! It’s rude! Stay together, follow the guide and listen patiently to our stories! Do not make any noise! Thus, we will know that you are our friends! What people are saying about Centru

We were picked up punctually from the agreed meeting point. The rangers were very knowledgeable and nice. On the way to the hut we met a young bear. The rangers handled the situation professionally. We received information about the bears and the rangers answered any questions. The view from the hut is better than expected. We saw a lot of foxes. Just before we were about to leave, another bear appeared. Although the time was already over, we stayed until the bear disappeared into the deep forest. It was an unforgettable experience!

The experience was very interesting, Charlie our guide was very nice and kind, it help us organize and also to do other activities around Brasov. The seven ladders are an easy route but ver nice and we had a lot of fun!

God hike route. The guide was very kind. It's a short route and we finished pretty quickly, so he suggested we go down a few zip lines. We had a great time, recommend the activity as it is not difficult.

Amazing activity, we saw 2 male bears and a fox. They were honest and they warn us that it was possible to see nothing. I'm very glad we didn't cancel the tour.

It was really superb! Our guide was really very nice, knowledgeable about bears, their environments and attentive! A superb experience! I recommend
