Immerse yourself in the legend of Vlad the Impaler, inspiration for Count Dracula, on this full-day tour of Transylvania. Discover some of the historic castles of the region, and visit the city of Brasov. Start your tour with pickup from certain pickup points in Bucharest and drive towards the region of Valahia. Discover Peles Castle situated in picturesque Sinaia, and known as the Pearl of the Carpathians. Travel through the mountain scenery to Bran, where you will visit Bran Castle, commonly known as Dracula’s Castle. Learn the legend of the terrifying fictional Count. Move on to Brasov, located in the heart of Transylvania. Embark on a walking tour through the historical center. Encounter sights such as the Gothic church of Biserica Neagră, and the Medieval Catherine's Gate, the last remaining of the city’s defensive walls.

In the morning, drive all the way to Bran, enjoying a nice view of the Carpathian mountains along the way. Visit Bran castle and discover the mysterious legend of Dracula on your own. Take time for lunch. In the afternoon, head to Brasov, the 7th largest city in Romania. The city provides a mix of wonderful mountain and medieval history with German influences in the old town. On a 2-hour walking tour, discover the historical and cultural highlights of Brasov the “Crown City". Admire the Weavers' Bastion and go to the 4-foot-wide Rope Street (Strada Sforii). Check out Brasov Synagogue and see the Catholic Church, Post Orchard, White Tower, and Black Tower. The city tour ends with some free time for you to explore the city on your own. After your free time, return to Sibiu.

Explore one of the largest and most popular cities in Romania. Enjoy a 2-hour tour of Brasov, located at the foot of Transylvania's Carpathian Mountains. Founded by Teutonic Knights in 1211, Brasov is a perfect example of a settlement of the Middle Ages. Today, it is one of the best preserved cities in Europe and home to some of Europe's narrowest streets. Highlights include the City Hall, Orthodox Church and Black Church. Go to Poarta Ecaterinei and the Schei Quarter. Admire sacred monuments, such as Saint Nicholas Church. Admire the Weavers' Bastion and go to the 4-foot-wide Rope Street (Strada Sforii). This was initially used as an access route by firefighters. Visit Brasov Synagogue and see the Catholic Church, Post Orchard, White Tower and Black Tower.

Day 1: Bucharest, Sighisoara Begin your trip at 9 AM with pickup from Moxa Boutique Hotel via your guide. From here, transfer to the Medieval Saxon Citadel of Sighisoara, founded by Saxons during the 12th century. Explore the place where Vlad the Impaler, also known as Dracula, was born. In the evening, enjoy a delicious traditional Romanian festive dinner, washed down with fiery spirits and Romanian wine. During dinner, enjoy a special program including the Killing of the Living Dead ritual. Spend the night in a 3-star hotel located in the heart of the Medieval citadel. Day 2: Sighisoara, Brasov, and Bran First, stop at the Medieval Saxon City of Brasov -- one of the best-preserved medieval cities in Europe, and home to the impressive Black Church. Next, explore Transylvania’s famous symbol, Bran Castle, which owes its fame to both its unique charm, and to the myth Bram Stoker created around Dracula. Explore the edifice that dates back to 1377 to Queen Maria of Romania who turned the castle into a beautiful summer residence. Next, a cheese tasting here is strongly recommended, as the village is renowned for its delicious homemade traditional cheeses. Then, prepare for a party at Bran Castle, also known as Dracula’s Castle. Take a night tour of the castle, meet wicked fairies, and get lost in dance along with a glass of local red wine. Later on in the night, there will be an after-party in the castle's courtyard until 4 AM. Day 3: Bran and Bucharest Transfer to Bucharest Airport for your journey home, arriving in Bucharest after 5 PM (depending on traffic).

In the 12th century, the German Saxons arrived in Transylvania playing a major role in the development of powerful strongholds and fortresses throughout the region. The influence of the Saxons, also known Sasi, jumpstarted the region's economy and began a cultural evolution which left behind an array of impressive fortified churches – the focal point of the tour. With your English-speaking expert guide, visit two of the most well-preserved fortified churches in Eastern Europe, Prejmer and Harman. At Prejmer, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, learn about why the church was built in the shape of a Latin cross, and admire its imposing Gothic architecture. Listen to your guide share stories about its rich history, which dates back to 1427, and the many events that have taken place here throughout the ages. As you explore this fascinating site, which was built to withstand attacks from the Ottomans, marvel at the 14-meter-high and 5-meter-thick walls. At Harman church, gaze upon the fascinating Roman Basilica and Gothic inspired architecture. Wander around the site and visit the west tower, the chapel, and the moat before heading inside the church to see its collection of paintings, dating back to the 13th century.

You will be taken from your hotel in Brasov by a professional guide and you will travel in a luxurious van to the heart of Trasylvania. Visit the village of Saxon Viscri, with its rustic streets and beautiful Saxon houses. Climb the hill and visit the fortified white church, hence the name of the village, Viscri, meaning the White Church.In the church, you will admire the altar, the old balconies, the walnut-wood sides, and the organ that still works. You can climb the old tower and see a beautiful panoramic view of the village and the hills around it. You will also visit Walter's distillery and taste palinca. Then, you will head to Sighisoara, a city that has played an important strategic and commercial role at the edges of Cetral Europe for several centuries. Admire the old medieval houses with their beautiful architecture, narrow streets with brightly colored houses, and visit the clock tower. Go to the house where Vlad Tepes (Dracula) was born. You will also admire the deer house, the mayor's house, the Venetian house, and many other beautiful and historic buildings in the fortress. Finally, you will go to the fortified Church in Biertan with its three defensive walls, which will help you to understand the skill and mastery of the Saxon colonists in the area. After exploring the area, return to Brasov in the evening.

In the morning, our guide will pick you up from your location in Brasov and take you to Racos, where you will visit the geological complex which consists of three places which you shouldn't miss: the basalt columns, 15 meter high rock structures that will surely impress you, the Emerald Lake with its unique looking color and last but not least, the ”volcanic canyon.” The area was a witness of volcanic activity and the scenery inside the canyon will make you feel like at the Grand Canyon but in a smaller scale.If you like a bit of history, you can visit the Sukosd Bethlen castle situated in the village of Racos and even climb into the tower for a nice panorama over the area. Your next stop will be the Rupea citadel, situated on top of a small hill, above the city with the same name. This is one of the oldest archaeological sites in Romania, the first signs of human settlements here dating from the Paleolithic and early Neolithic. You final stop will be in Viscri, "the Romanian's home of Prince Charles", which is well known outside the country as being on of the most pitoresque village listed as Unesco World Heritage Sites. We will visit the the White Church, which is a modest house of God but an impressive fortress, one of many created to protect small Transylvanian villages in the Middle Ages. End the day in style, with a traditional meal that will surely make you fall in love with this area. We will stop at a local barn, where the people from the village craft traditional and reinvented dishes. The owners search for authentic, honest ingredients and they change the menu seasonally,depending on what they find interesting in their smallfarmers network. After this you will be taken back to Brasov and dropped off at your location.

Set off on an authentic adventure in Transylvania with this 2-day guided trek in one of Romania's most beautiful areas, Piatra Craiului National Park. Enjoy a small-group tour for no more than 8 participants, and benefit from a licensed English-speaking mountain guide during the entire trek. Begin the tour in Brasov with pickup from selected hotels. Upon arrival in the national park, start your predominantly medium level trek for 5–8 hours. Stop at an authentic sheep farm for a special lunch (from June to September), and cross 2 authentic mountain villages: Magura and Pestera. Stay overnight in the latter at a local guesthouse and enjoy the local food. On the second day, if weather permits, climb to the highest peak in the national park, Vârful La Om. Admire panoramic views from the 2,238-meter (7,343-foot) summit, one of the most picturesque ridges in the Carpathians. Day 1: Brasov, Gura Humorului, Bucovina, Moldovita, and Sucevita Your tour will begin as you are picked up from your hotel in Brasov by your professional guide. From there you will go to Bucovina through the Oituz Pass, before eventually arriving in beautiful Bucovina. Once having arrived, you will visit the Humor Monastery (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), the Voronet Monastery (also known as the "Sistine Chapel of the East" due to its splendid frescoes), and the Moldovita Monastery. At the conclusion of your day, you will spend an overnight in Sucevita Village at a guest house, where you will also have dinner. Day 2: Sucevita, Marginea, Gura Humorului, Bicaz Gorges, Red Lake, and Brasov Following breakfast (which will consist of products from the house farm) on the second day, you will begin with a visit to the Sucevita Monastery. Few religious monuments are as inspirational and mesmerizing as the Sucevita Monastery, which is one of the eight painted churches from Bucovina included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. You will then visit the Black Ceramics of Marginea, where you will visit the workshops in which ceramic objects are produced. You will be able to admire the craftsmanship of the local artisans, and will also be able to try the craft yourself. Next on your agenda is the Arbore Church, which was built between the 2nd of April and the 29th of August 1503 by Luca Arbore. The monastery, with it’s rectangular shape, was built of brick and stone extracted from the quarries in the region. You will then move to explore the area around Bicaz Gorge. Red Lake is the perfect destination for those who want to relax in an amazingly beautiful landscape, and also for those who want to enjoy the silence and the fresh air. The journey from Moldavia towards Transylvania is done through this nature’s wonder, the Bicaz Gorge. Following the discovery of this gorge, you will travel back to Brasov.

Get picked up from your hotel in Brasov and head to the small village of Acriș, where you will visit a bison reserve. Spot these majestic animals feeding or just walking around the reserve, which is also home to roe deer and stags. After having a tour of the reserve, your next stop will be at Urlătoarea waterfall, situated in the forest near the village. Considered one of the most beautiful places in Romania, this curtain of water flows down a steep hill, creating a sound that gives its name: Urlătoarea means ”the raging one”. After heavy rainfalls, the sound effect is even more predominant. At the end of your tour, enjoy a well-deserved lunch at a local household. Your hosts will prepare a 3-course meal from local organic products. Taste palinka, the Romanian national drink, and enjoy some quality time in the courtyard. If you're looking for something sweet, the hosts will show you their cellar where they keep homemade jams and spreads made from hand-picked fruits and forest berries. After the feast, get dropped off back at your hotel in Brasov.
