The journey will continue towards Bran Castle. Completed in 1388, the castle was built on a steep cliff between Măgura and Dealul Cetăţii, with an exceptional view of the nearby hills. Learn about this famous castle, especially the tales of Count Dracula as you walk the ancient halls.  Next, you will head to Sinaia, the former summer residence of the Romanian royal family. The one hour drive offers spectacular views of surrounding nature and wildlife. Then encounter Peles Castle, considered to be one of the most beautiful castles in Europe. Visit an architectural masterpiece, discover it's wonderful saloons and learn about the heritage.  On the route home, you can see the view of the Transylvanian Alps, the Bucegi Mountains, and the lively resort-towns of Busteni and Predeal.

Meet your driver-guide at your hotel in Brasov in the late afternoon and make a 30 minute drive in an air-conditioned vehicle to the forest. Gain fascinating insights into the lives of brown bears as you travel. Learn how their sharp sense of smell is vital in ensuring their survival and how they can grow to enormous sizes, with some males reaching up to 770 pounds (350 kgs).  Meet the ranger who will outline the rules you must follow in order to respect the bears' habitat and stay safe. Then walk about 20 minutes or drive with a jeep to the observatory where you can observe the bears as they go about their everyday life. Take photos of the bears interacting, playing, and resting.  After about two hours, return to the vehicle and get dropped off back at your hotel in Brasov with wonderful memories of these amazing creatures.

Head deep in the forests surrounding Brasov. The vehicle that will pick you up and bring you to the forest will stop approximately 200-300 meters away from the observation hide. Walk for a short distance to the hide and then wait quietly, for the wildlife to come out. Everything is real and wild. Please note that there is no 100% guarantee that you will spot any wildlife, but statistically, there are very high chances to spot brown bears, and also lynx, foxes, wolves, and wild boars. Once the sun is setting and it is getting darker, start making your way back and return to Brasov, as you will not be able to see anything in the dark and walking through the forest during the night can be dangerous. The meeting time is set according to the dusk time and can, therefore, vary a little. The starting time for this adventure runs from 6 PM in mid-summer time to 3 PM in November, when the days have already become very short.

Your tour will begin as you are taken from your hotel in Brasov by a professional guide. Once having departed Brasov, you will travel to the most spectacular road in Europe: Transfagarasan. You will stop first and visit the Brancoveanu Monastery, an ancient Orthodox monastery built at the foot of the Fagaras Mountains. Its mural and interior paintings were made in 1766 by the painters Ionascu and Pană, and you will leave the silence and harmony of the monastic life of this Orthodox monastery. You will then continue to the mountains which host the Transfagarasan Highway, the most spectacular and beautiful mountain road in Europe. The road has been featured on the UK motor show Top Gear, and traverses up through the mountains uniting Transylvania with Valachia. Whilst there you will experience great scenes, noisy waterfalls, and with some luck you may even see wild animals such as the brown bear or black goats. Moving onward, you will travel to the Balea Glacier Lake, where you will have lunch at the Lake Balea Chalet. You can then take a walk around the lake, and in summer can also climb up the slope near the lake. From the top of this ridge you will have wonderful pictures with the peaks of the surrounding mountains and the lake and cottage Balea. In the winter between December and March you can visit the ice hotel, as well as the neighboring ice church. You will later return to Brasov in the evening, with wonderful memories of your trip into the sky.

Your tour will begin as you are taken by a professional guide from your hotel in Brasov. You will begin with a tour of Pele's Castle, a summer residence belonging to the royal family of Romania which was built in the 19th century by Carol the First, the first king of Romania. This unique vantage point is the reason why it was only conquered once in 1611. You will be able to admire the beautiful mountain scenery of the Bucegi Mountains, Tara Barsei, and many others. In the evening, you will be returned back to your hotel with beautiful memories of the day.

Super well organized, a high quality guide, enthusiastic and ready to share anecdotes and tips. I would have spent a little more time at Bran Castle, 1 hour was a bit tight, especially without a guided tour.
