Meet your tour guide at a pre-arranged time in the lobby of your hotel. Your guide will transfer you to the train station in Zürich, where you will board an intercity train. This will take you along Lake Zürich to the south east of Switzerland. When you arrive in Chur, the oldest town in Switzerland, you will have the opportunity for a short walk around, schedule times depending. Back at the train station, you will take your seat in the panoramic train. The train departs at approximately 11:45 AM. Pass through the famous Rhine gorge heading to Disentis, listening to audio comments on a headset. Simply ask your guide about availability. In Disentis, the train will start to climb to 2033m above sea level into a rough alpine landscape. After passing a lighthouse, the train will begin its descent on a steep track down to Andermatt, a village 1400m above sea level. The train will stop in Andermatt for 15 minutes, which gives you the chance to stop, stretch your legs, and breathe in the fresh Swiss air. The journey will continue through the 15km long "Furka" base tunnel, constructed in 1982 to save travel time from Andermatt to Brig. Your train will continue through the “Goms” valley in direction of Brig. This valley is known as a destination for summer hiking and winter sports. The time to Brig is approximately two hours. Once there, you will again have the opportunity to exit the train for a walk through the pedestrian zone and the palace "Stockalper".   Your guide will lead you to the right train in Brig, where you will board an intercity train. When your guide leaves you in Brig, they will handover all necessary tickets and information to you so you can continue your journey back to your hotel.

Discover the historical city of Lucerne on this tour with a night watchman. Start the tour on the right bank of the river by the Chapel Bridge. Listen to the fire horn, followed by the call of the night watchman. Listen to the exciting tales of the night watchman about his life, the Lucerne Chronicle of Diebold Schilling, the brilliant engraver Martin Martini, the stonemason Hans von Trient and his adversary Luzius Ritter, as well as other personalities from Lucerne’s past. At the beginning of the tour you can look at the route and attractions on the city map by Martini from 1597. Discover Kapellplatz and walk along Furrengasse to Kornmarkt. Here you can admire the Luzerner Elle and the Luzerner Fuß in the wall of the town hall. Hear the story about the giant of Reiden before continuing on along Brandgässli, which recalls the night of fire in 1833. Stop by the guild house of dressmakers and learn all about the legend of the night of murder in Lucerne. A few steps further is the wine market, where the night watchman brings you closer to the Swiss art of war. See the linden tree, where the pillory and the bank once stood, and listen to information about the court order, legal violations, and interrogation techniques. If time allows, you can stop at Zöpfli, one of the most beautiful places on the river in the old town. The route then continues on over Reuss Bridge, past the first Mint to the breathtaking display window of the medieval Alte Suidtersche Apotheke. Continue on to Ritter Palace and the story of Hans von Trient and his adversary Lux Ritter. Watch the dance of death by Jakob von Wal and stroll up the river across the Chapel Bridge back to the starting point.

Your guide will pick you up at your hotel, and together you’ll make your way into central Lucerne. Enjoy fantastic panoramic views of the city center across the Reuss river, and admire the surrounding mountains. Continue towards the wooden Chapel Bridge, a 200-meter long pedestrian crossing, and learn the history of this beautifully painted bridge.   Discover the car-free inner city circle and the old town, filled with 16th-century buildings. Walk across the Spreuer Bridge and take a coffee break along the Reuss river. After the break, continue along the city wall, built for defensive reasons in the 14th century. End your city tour by the Lion Monument, a rock relief commemorating the massacres of Swiss Guards during the French Revolution.   Your tour guide will then lead you to the boat station, where you’ll board a panoramic yacht and sail out on to Lake Lucerne. Uma experiência excelente. Viagem de barco muito calma e a vista das margens do lago é excelente. O elétrico até ao topo do monte proporciona vistas magnificas (escolham lugares lado esquerdo para a subida). No topo mesmo em dias mais encobertos é bonito. Desçam a pé até ao teleférico que vale muito a pena. E depois a viagem de teleférico até de novo ao barco é do outro mundo. Para quem tem medo alturas escolha não ficar logo na frente, mas não deixe de fazer a viagem.

Ralph was an excellent guide. He wove history/fact & fiction-, humor and technology together. His depth of knowledge about early life in Lucerne seemed endless.
