The experience itself was spectacular. The scenery is truly awe inspiring. My one critique is that the inclusion of the bus is either false or misleading. The local partner will not exchange the voucher until you get to Kriens and they don't all seem to be on the same page as to whether you have to pay for the bus or just show the qr code. It's only 4 CH but there is a miscommunication issue that needs clearing up.

Spend a relaxing afternoon strolling along Lake Lucerne's most panoramic vistas and walking by old Swiss chalets, villas, and historic castles on a 4-hour tour through the countryside. Begin with a short bus ride to the peninsula of Meggen, located on the northern shore of Lake Lucerne. Alongside the lake you will encounter the neo-baroque style manor of St. Charles Hall and view the enchanting statues of Rolf Brem. Continue to a small hamlet of 150-year old Swiss chalets and feel as though you have stepped back in time. Next, walk past the now privately owned and lived-in 13th-century Neuhabsburg Castle, by ornate old world villas, and aside green pastures and working farmhouses. Arrive at the eastern entrance to the 17th-century Meggenhorn Castle. This estate includes vineyards and gardens with spectacular views of the surrounding Alps, and you will have the opportunity to pet farm a...

I suggest doing the tour backwards than suggested by Get Your Guide. Start with the lake cruise portion (Luzern to Alpnachstad) since there are only a few sailings, then take the cogwheel train/funicular up and go down via cable car to Kriens and bus back to Lucerne (many bus times). Don't worry, there are plenty of signs to mark your journey, Breathtaking views even if the top of the mountain is obscured in clouds. See cows and hikers below. Starting instructions that were given were a bit confusing (telling you to go to bus office when none existed) but information center at the Lucerne railway was very helpful and they told us what pier the ship would leave from and the possible times. If you have kids or teens, there is a fun activity park (you must pay) where you change cable cars half way down the descent (Frakmuntegg).
This was a fabulous excursion for me at 78 years old and for my granddaughter at 19 years old. The ride up in the gondolas provided extraordinarily beautiful views – absolutely stunning. We ate lunch at the hotel. The food was excellent. We noticed that many folks brought picnic lunches which looked like a fun option. Going down the other side of the mountain on the cog railway was an equally beautiful experience. The final leg on the boat to go back to Lucerne was a relaxing and beautiful trip. This is truly an adventure for all age groups.
The trip was excellent and smooth with my 3 year old son. I took the cruise first from pier 2 near Lucerne Bahnhof, followed by cog wheel ride upwards. At Alpachstad we had to exchange our print out tickets at the counter in order to get the passes for the remaining trip. We were able to spend sometime at the top of Mt Pilatus and descended by dragon ride and gondola, caught the bus number 1 and back to Lucerne Bahnof. The weather was also perfect!
Little romantic weekend, really great .. super nice people, the weather was not great but that did not take away the charm of the spa or of the descent with the little train.
Wonderful experience with boat ride, train and cable car rides. Stunning views from the mountain.
