What people are saying about Castle Clinton National Monument

Tim was a marvelous guide! He was funny and informative. He even took pictures of each of us in front of Lady Liberty. I feel it should be a known universal etiquette, but apparently it's not, so I'll mention it here: TIP your guide, ya'll!!! The website might say your ticket includes different things, like "pedestal access" for example, but it won't include that unless you have booked tickets about 2 months in advance. I'm still confused about whether or not I paid more for a ticket to have a special experience, but didn't receive all of my money's worth. The website should really say whether or not all of the items will be included on the date of one's visit. I called but didn't specifically ask if the pedestal would be available on the date of my visit. (There are only a small amount of tickets to access that, and from what I understand, the park regulates that.) I suggest trying to call for clarification and specifically ask what will be available on the day of your visit.

It was fun walking around Battery Park and then taking the ferry over to the Statue of Liberty. With the ferries leaving every 20 minutes, you could stay as long as you'd like there and Ellis Island. I will say the food at Ellis Island is horrible, so bring something to eat if you think you'll be hungry.

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour!! Our guide Tim was so knowledgeable and interesting. We seriously enjoyed it even more than we had hoped.

Good, knowledgeable guide in the beginning with lots of time to enjoy the history, take pictures, and eat on each island.
