Casablanca: City Tour

1. Casablanca: City Tour

Begin your half-day tour with pickup from central Casablanca hotels at 8:30 AM or any accommodation. Meet your multilingual chauffeur, and sit back and relax in an air-conditioned car or minivan, depending on your group size. Pass by the Old Medina of Casablanca and United Nations Square on your way to Hassan II Mosque. Spend 1 hour discovering the mosque before heading to Rick's Café, a legendary place thanks to two cinematic icons: Ingrid Bergman and Humphrey Bogart. From there, make your way to the Corniche and spend 15 minutes exploring the elegant buildings of the Anfa and Maarif neighborhoods, the grand avenues, and the architecture that blends modern and Moorish styles. Pass by Ain Diab and see the main public beach for Casablanca's 6.5 million population. Next, stop at the Square of Mohammed V, the pigeon-filled heart of the city, before visiting the Notre Dame de Lourdes, a wonderful cathedral with stained-glass walls around the church. Look out for the grotto which has a statue of Mary with flowers and candles. After admiring the cathedral, head to Habbous Square near the Royal Palace of Casablanca to discover this district in the city's old quarter, which was built during the French colonial period. Finally, stop at Boulevard Mohammed V to mingle with the local Moroccan crowds.

See the Mohamed V University and walk past the Hassan Tower. Visit the Mohamed V Mausoleum and marvel at the tiles decorating the walls of the burial chamber. Continue on to the Kasbah. Casablanca Guided Sightseeing Tour

3. Casablanca Guided Sightseeing Tour

See the most important sights of Casablanca on a sightseeing and walking tour. Named "White House" by a group of Spanish and Portuguese sailors who marveled at the white houses facing the ocean in the Anfa district, today Casablanca ("Dar El Beida" in Arabic) is a bustling city of boulevards and modern infrastructure. Walk around the Habous district, where the small squares and narrow arcade streets provide a fine example of contemporary city planning mixed with the maze-like streets of the traditional medina. Continue towards United Nations Place and the majestic Mohammed V Square. Then, go to the lively Central Market and the surrounding Royal Palace. Explore the colorful Habous Quarter and the Mehkma (Tribunal). Visit the Notre Dame de Lourdes cathedral and the famous Hassan II Mosque to experience 2 religious epicenters of the city. End with a pleasant stroll through the residential area of Anfa and shop in the newly built Morocco Mall on the seafront.

Both Abdel the guide and Sabi our driver were tip-top. Incredible service and kindness all around. They provided very personalized service, even skipping things on the planned tour we’d already seen (which we would have been ok with doing — we knew what we signed up for) to see a few different things on the same route. All of the GYG trips booked in Morocco were exceptional.

This was an excellent overview of Casablanca. It was so nice being in the air conditioned car but we also did a fair amount of walking. Our guide was very informative and when we asked to see things that were not on his route he was able to adjust and make it happen. I highly recommend this tour.

This is a must do on any trip to Casablanca! My driver REDA, who also drove the trip to Rabat is fantastic and beyond helpful and accommodating. If you get the early AM or late afternoon (sunset) the pictures are awesome!

Our guide, Abdel, was knowledgeable and personable. He answered our many questions and remained good natured. He was thoughtful with our group and even got us mint tea and a snack. We highly recommend him!

Amazing trip. The travel agency is accommodating. Our tour guide is so friendly, helpful and very caring. Highly recommended!
