Explore the city with your guide, taking in ancient landmarks with sweeping views of the surrounding coastline. Learn about how Carthage was famously destroyed by the Romans in 146 BC, but excavations have revealed homes, sewage systems, and the remains of the city walls. After visiting the UNESCO-listed archeological site, continue to Sidi Bou Said, a blue-and-white, picturesque village that looks over the Mediterranean. Pause for lunch at a local restaurant. Make the final stop of the day in the Tunis medina, the city’s UNESCO-listed old city. Dar Alaïa is a tribute to Ezzedine Alai. In the afternoon you’ll visit the Bardo Museum. Famous for its collection of Roman mosaics, which is the largest and richest collection in the world. Travel to Tunis and explore Tunis Medina. See Zitouna Mosque, which is the second oldest Mosque in Africa. After you visit, you’ll be dropped off at your accommodation in Sousse.
