We had a great time hiking lion's head with our tour guide. He made sure we started early enough that we were at the top with plenty of time to see the sunrise, which was breathtaking. He was really fun and easy to talk to and put us at ease. He also took some photos of us at the top! One concern was that we were not able to be picked up from our hotel in Woodstock because it was out of range - so we had to pay extra for a taxi to pick us up, but then when we arrived, our guide said it would have been no problem for him to have picked us up, and it would have been nice to avoid paying for an extra cab since we already had paid for the tour. We would recommend this hike to anyone traveling to Cape Town. In regards to how difficult the hike was, I was nervous it would be very challenging, but overall found it to be not too challenging - we were up and down in 3 hours, and spent maybe 30 minutes at the top looking at the views.

Perfect memories

We has a great time with our guide, Nick, who not only showed us beautiful viewpoints but also pointed out the various species of flora on Lions head. We had a misty morning but Nick never failed to make the hike equally enjoyable. Thanks for all the joy and laughter!

Our guide Darren picked us up perfectly in time and we made it to the top of Lions Head 15 minutes before sunrise. We had an awesome time and a lot of fun! We highly recommend doing the sunrise hike. Absolutly worth it.

The hike was amazing and the scenery was phenomenal. Binny, our guide, was amazing and extremely friendly.

You should be in good condition and have a head for heights if you choose the direct route.
